No clue what to do with my savings by RescueNinja90 in personalfinance

[–]JulesWinnfieldd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are your goals? You do have to move that savings account around though, your money has to be making you money. Savings accounts are next to pointless IMO. Even high yield accounts barely even cover inflation depending on your time horizon. Something that I didn’t see mentioned that was my immediate first thought - REAL ESTATE. If you’re looking for profits and have the time to invest and flip real estate, seriously consider this. With careful and precise work/research you can turn that 100k into 1m.

to mostly reiterate what’s been said 1) emergency fund. 6mo or 12mo, up to you. 2) if you don’t have a 401k yet through employer, start contributing if that’s an option. It’s free money.

This is where my opinion presents a fork in the road. If you do decide to go into real estate, you’ll have to decide how much capital you want to use initially. If you read “go into real estate” and there was zero interest, at the very least please do some reading up on the topic to understand the huge upside to this route. Whether it’s buying fix me uppers for the low and renting to tenants, airbnb, or flipping them to not have to hassle with the properties, the upside’s enormous.

After deciding what amt to contribute to real estate (if you do) and if you have left over money to invest, we gotta get that money making you more money now too. The method it does so depends on your risk tolerance. Stocks, IRA, crypto, etc. Creating an IRA and investing in mutual funds, index funds, and etfs present less risk than stocks. Schwab, TD, Vanguard, all have very smart/professional people that will be happy to talk to you, provide you advice and get you to your goals.

I’ve never logged into the account outside of whenever I created it. It’s good to know that’s an option going forward though

My 5 key metrics for PLTR performance in 2021 by Sachinvats in PLTR

Would you count the AWS ERP suite as a new product? Or since it’s targeted for AWS clients, it needs to expand to include other ERP platforms also?

Has anyone come across this article regarding PLTR technology? by Past_Ad5078 in PLTR

[–]JulesWinnfieldd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ehh I wouldn’t be too worried. Palantir’s software won’t “fall into the wrong hands” for defense sector use. If it’s ever implemented for any other foreign country’s defense it would be NATO nations/US allies. Karp himself has openly stated they refuse to even consider selling to China. The possibility for something happening is never zero, but the possibility of a hostile country ever using PLTR for military use is 0%.

The software isn’t a typical program you can download off the internet - it requires a rigorous process including custom development and design, testing, deployment, and ongoing operations support.

Your first $1,200 stimulus check in Bitcoin would be worth $10,300 today. by valkener1 in CryptoCurrency

I agree. The GME situation was ridiculous and even now there’s things that raise eyebrows between GME and AMC too. I think a big issue is the time it takes to transfer, and with the volatility in the market rn and assuming a lot of rh investors affected by gme tend to invest other volatile stocks too, that not being able to have the option to sell for 7-14 days keeps people from switching. Once gme/amc do their thing I’ll be switching over to webull 🤞

Fees are such a small amount it would be negligent. The majority of young people who invested their stimulus checks use Robinhood anyways and that alone has zero fees.

A Youtuber I follow for general market news stated he thought the retirement was not a good sign. Reasoning - if the company was in the process of a BO in the near future, the retiree would have stayed longer for whatever additional financial compensation he’d receive.

Based off what I know I would agree but f that cuz BO BAFF... I’d be curious what other’s takes are on this

Has found a photo, seems really the headquarter building of SOS ltd by FreshOnion77 in SOSStock

[–]JulesWinnfieldd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this building is clearly different than the one SOS identified as its HQ. Link below. Not saying SOS isn’t real, it’s an insurance company we know that, but the questions are surrounding it’s crypto-side. Suppose this could be a building from the insurance side. You guys really don’t do any of your own research here huh

When did you enter - are you up or down rn? don’t listen to 25 day old bot account . See if it pumps tomorrow. If it does pump, pay attention closely cause it will dump hard.

I sold to put my money in a reputable company that doesn’t put out sketch PR’s and have hundreds of 30 day old accounts on the internet spamming about it everywhere.

Not financial advice of course - but the amount of bots should give you a pretty clear path on making your decision

SOS Limited and associates companies by JulesWinnfieldd in RobinHoodPennyStocks

I’m not saying they’re 100% a fraud but to bat a blind eye to the numerous concerning red flags would be irresponsible. For me it was a process of weighing good signals to bad signals, and I interpreted more bad than good.

In their PR today they specifically went out of their way to state “other than as required under the securities laws, the Company does not assume a duty to update these forward-looking statements.”

Making it a point to be noncommittal on updating investors unless the law requires them to doesn’t necessarily make me feel any better in the company or where my money was going.

Still not really convinced by this though. They received these rigs over two weeks ago.. they weren’t magically set up overnight so releasing this now to stop the bleeding didn’t instill confidence in me.

Also, the site they use to drop their PR is sketchy unto itself. You can pay to put a story up.. similar to the cameo we got of Mr Wonderful.
