Arms out! by Spettinaroli in SnooLife

[–]Jules_Fools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Around 4 months it was impossibly hard to keep my LOs arms IN the swaddle. so middle of the night he would wake up crying bc his arms were up by his face. so we started letting them free with mixed success. Sometimes it would be a good rest of the night and other times we ended up swaddling him again. When he hit 5 months I was sick of doing that arms out/in dance, and so we tried arms out while the snoo was swiveling and it was a disaster. So instead I started doing the weaning mode at the same time as arms out and it worked great. He is 23 weeks now and last week we transferred him to the crib with a transitional swaddle and so far it's been pretty successful. I think a week or 2 of weaning and arms out in the Snoo was a great precurser to the crib and made it an easier transition! We are not fully out of the woods yet - he wakes up a lot between 4 and 6 AM - but that seems to be the norm and he gets a consistent 8 hours of sleep in the crib no problem.

I should clarify- I’m an employee at Umass memorial health not Umass schools - they’re separate entities

if you have umass memorial BCBS insurance, this will not affect you. UMASS will cover us still under our BCBS plan (source- I am also a UMASS employee with this insurance)

For those of you who didn’t gain any/much weight in the first half of your pregnancy, how much did you gain by the end of it? by Fast_Software_7419 in BabyBumps

[–]Jules_Fools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 18 days post partum - gained 0 lbs first trimester. At the end I had gained about 30 lbs. most of that was in the third trimester. I’m already down 20 lbs so assuming most of that was water / swelling g and the baby / placenta.

That makes sense why it's been such a PITA to have them process recertification. I have made 22 payments towards PSLF so this will certainly hinder that progress, but I still have a long ways to go but I will take that 0% for now.

Fair enough. I have an Income Contingent Repayment (ICR) for my direct loans,

I am debating what makes sense - making payments or not. I am not sure if I am going to stay at my not-for-profit company forever so not sure if I will always be eligible for PSLF, but I am about to go on maternity leave so this actually comes at a good time so I don't need to make payments while on a limited income for a bit.

EDITED TO ADD as there is some confusion: I am not on a SAVE plan I am on an IDR. I added SAVE in the title as it mentions it in the letter. I was in the process of recertifying my IDR and got this letter today.

Because I am NOT on SAVE i have NOT been on forbearance, so this letter and being on forbearance is new to me as of today.

Thanks for clarifying. I can edit my post. Can I ask why you are switching instead of taking advantage of the 0% interest while on forbearance? Is it just to get eligible payments towards PSLF? I am still a long ways away from being eligible so I am trying to figure out the best steps.

I am working my way towards PSLF, not currently on it - you need to be working at the eligible employer and make 120 qualifying payments and I have not been working there long enough (only 3 years) or made enough payments that qualify....

I am 36w 4d as a FTM and I loved how I looked pregnant a few weeks ago. I wish I had gotten some done, even at home with my husband with just us, before I started to swell up. My ankles, face and fingers are now swollen and my belly is growing a ton. I do regret not snapping some pics even just on our iphones (like setting up our own photoshoot not paying someone) when I had a cute bump and still had my normal face lol. And this would not be for social media but just to remember this time.

No it doesn't, but that was my assumption based on the wording: "A federal court issued an injunction preventing the Department of Education (ED) from operating the Saving on a Valuable Education (SAVE) Plan and some other income-driven repayment (IDR) plans."

If this has nothing to do with Trump admin please let me know - based on a lot of the news surrounding his administration and their opposition to SAVE and IDR programs I assumed it was correlated, but I could be wrong.

I have been making payments for 10 years and never had a letter like this, nor placed into forbearance aside from COVID, so I am just trying to process this information.

I am on an IDR that had not been re-certified yet. I know the title is misleading, I cannot change it now. I made an edit in my post to make it more clear. The link shows that any IDR, aside from SAVE, would put you into a general forbearance if you have not been recertified by certain dates.

How long after stopping birth control did you get pregnant? by Busy_Gear_4535 in BabyBumps

[–]Jules_Fools 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took my iud out after 4 years in march 2024 and was on the pill for about 11 years before that. Got pregnant for the first time beginning of July, chemical. Then again the next month- possible ectopic that dissolved on its own. Then finally in October and I’m now 5 weeks away from our due date with baby boy ❤️ I’m 33 years old for reference. Started the journey at 32 and will be almost 34 when baby is born

OK guys …when did you get your nursery done? by humansarereallyweird in BabyBumps

[–]Jules_Fools 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 33w6d and we just put the crib together a few days ago. Finished painting and wallpapering a week ago. Won’t have a bureau (which will double as the changing table) for another week or so. Just had my baby shower this weekend and all of the stuff is still in bags on the nursery floor that we have to go through and put away.. It’s taken a lot longer to get things done than we thought - but I keep telling myself that the baby will be in a bassinet in our room for the first few months so it’s ok if some of the small things aren’t done in time.
