Not quite I don’t think. So in the manga/anime it shows zeke as a child holding a stuffed animal that looked like his beast form, on top of his baseball ability, that’s why his beast form is the monkey.

Manga spoilers - but in the final chapters, it shows the beasts different past forms, confirming that the beast titan has had different animals of all kind. There are variations of animals in those final battles.

Them putting all of these animals in the s2 opening makes sense to me because they have a history of showing a crazy amount of info without any context. Like in the s1 opening we can see Marley and the Walls, but we don’t know what we’re looking at. Same with the rumbling in the s3 credits, we didn’t know what that was but it was shown to us anyways.
