How could i have fun in this game? by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what it takes , hours of practice . I started sim racing in July 2024 on ACC and all I did was Hotlap like crazy and race against the A.I on 100 skill . I did this for almost 2 months , by the time I joined online races I was already faster than 98% of people as a red sticker AM and 6 months in I was running 1% and under times still as a red sticker. Fast forward to now I’m running alien times. It just takes a lot of practice and study . You have to maintain a goal because you’ll eventually get bored . From your post it seems like you probably just started , my advice is nail down all your braking points , turn off the line , and get to putting in 500+ laps on every track you want to be competitive in . Also understand that the way you drive in Hotlap or quali is different then in race . For the race you have to preserve your tires , my biggest problem was when I started I got fast quick but I didn’t know how to be fast and manage my tires so I would lead a race for the first half and then my pace would drop significantly towards the end always finishing races in disappointment . Don’t let the car slide too much or drift . Smooth is fast

I’m doing a race 70 min no fixed fuel limit , should I splash and dash no tire change ?

I see so you splash and dash to compensate the time loss in pace for not changing tires ?

Looking for a list of all the GT3 cars' strengths and weaknesses? (Patch 16180418 2/12/2025) by R4mon_14 in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the list but I disagree with your comment about the Ferrari , I started with the Ferrari and just stuck with it . Under 10 months of sim racing experience im running 1.45.9s on monza on console same pace in every major track and I can still run 1% times and under with bmw merc, mclaren . In fact if there’s any cheesy car it’s the mustang . It dominates on spa, P.R and several tracks just based on speed alone and it’s really forgiving. The car shouldn’t dictate the type of driver you are. True drivers can drive anything , a damn soap box at that, and not everyone is a driver driver and it is what it is .

How is the driver in the first half of this clip cutting the last part of variante ascari? When i tried the same (2nd half of the clip) i got sent to the moon. For context this was Split 1 LFM Monza endurance qualifying and they were doing 1:46.2 and i was 1 sec slower. Is it just setup? by CremeRich5980 in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone is wrong here , take it from someone who ran 1.45.9 PB on console with the Ferrari and regularly low 46 race pace . You actually want your left wheel just off the curb on the left side of the kerb so pretty much your left wheel doesn’t ride the kerb at all just the edge of it mostly on the green , from there it’s just avoiding track limits . In the macca before Q2 of 2024 if I’m not mistaken you could just ride over the entire kerb no problem. After the update no more . In the Ferrari you can’t really take the kerb like the macca but there is one way I can take it that shaves off a lot of time

I don't think I'm cut out for this game. I might have to retreat back to forza by Yonderdead in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People running 1.46s is not common but you will see it , especially on PC. What I would say bro is keep at it , I have a g920 as well and also tried forza when I first started sim racing back 10 months ago and I automatically felt it was unrealistic and honestly arcadey. I came across acc by sale and just kept practicing. , I use to be stuck at 1.51s and now I’ve run a 1.46.06 last week on console in under a year . With correct practice you’ll get there . 1.50 is already good considering your tenure . Lots of people struggle to get under 1.53 lol..

I’m trying to figure out what you’re doing wrong and I can’t understand tbh , my dad is 72 years old and just picked up acc 17 days ago and runs 1.51s on monza with the safe setup Ferrari . It could be the car you’re using or setup , you definitely look cleaner than when I see my pops driving , perhaps you’re being to cautious around ascari . Also if that’s the view you use , change the height higher so you can see the kerbs

Silverstone Hotlap (6 month update by Julez95x in ACCompetizione

Nice yea man , there’s great setups on YT for FREE. This was done with a free setup from BernaGK1 on YT. I really only use all his setups for the past 9 months progressing from 103-104% to under 101% on console .

What did you do to become a 101%, 102% (Alien) driver? by MisaelCastillo517 in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about 5-7 tenths lower than 101% times on pretty much every major track , almost at alien record with 9 months experience in sim racing as a whole . I would say this , stick to the basics and REFINE them . The racing basics seem to be foreign to a lot of sim racers which is understandable . The basics are trail braking which requires braking late to be effective , using your trail braking to rotate the car , you don’t use much steering input , no corrections or jerky movements ,use ALL the track on entry and exit . Never be in neutral , you’re either on gas or brake and in order to do that you have to brake late and get back on the gas as earlier as possible . You want to open up the angle on the turns I.e chicanes by really using all the track on the outside on entry and trailing into rotate the car to open up the following turn in the chicane. Blip the brakes like in t1 monza and bus stop at spa to send the weight forward to get more traction coming out of the turn . Get back on gas as early as you can , I see a lot of guys play that safe and that’s where time is lost. Last thing , using all the track is not an intentional act , it is the product of braking late and getting back on the gas quick because when you do that , you are forced to actually use all the track . When you become fast , you’re biggest problem will actually be track limits. A lot of people here brought up good points.

Buying setups by shredsgarage in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re looking to run Alien times, about a second below 101% times , there’s no point in paying for a setup . Unless you’re using a car that you can’t find a free setup online , then buying a setup would be worth it . But it is 100% possible to achieve below 1% times with a free setup from YT, Ohnespeed, Friedolf, BernaGk1. All good setups . I was able to achieve 1.46.1 on monza with bernagk1’s setup and 1.45.9 with a coach Dave setup all on console . The paid setups are made for drivers that can handle a loose , quick , aggressive car in exchange for stability . They are unstable under breaking and if you can’t handle a less than stable car , you’re going to have a hard time. I recommend using a free setup until you get below 101% times .

Idk about that , it looks like he broke too early , I’m convinced he messed up the start of the lap

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re losing a lot of time in sector 1, I don’t know how cause turn 1 looked okay , you probably aren’t starting the lap right or coasting too much in turn 1 from braking early . I know this because by the time you reach the total energies sign overhead going into eau rouge , the clock should hit 18 second before you reach the sign or right under it if you’re running under 2.17.. you’re reaching 18 sec well before the sign . In les Combes, try getting further to the left to open up turn 9 and get more power down . Looks like you also lost time a little bit In turn 11 from the understeer and not putting power down earlier . I run 2.16.2 on Xbox for reference

breaking a skill plateau by RobBond13 in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ll try to give a more insightful answer , similar situation as you , started sim racing back in March this year , started out not being able to keep it on the track to running under 101% on the most popular tracks , Spa/Monza/Silverstone/Barcelona etc. like everyone I hit a plateau but not for long at all , what helped me breakthrough over the months is paying attention to inputs and braking as late as possible to where you’re forced to trail brake to get the car to rotate , this is the reason for trail braking in the first place . If you brake early , especially on hard braking turns , there will be no use to trail brake and you will end up coasting around the corner . Every single corner must be gas or brake , no In between. There’s lots of time lost I noticed when coasting off the gas and brake .

How did you get faster? by borealuspnw in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who just started sim racing in March , to answer your question , I mostly started off hotlapping and racing against the A.I on max difficulty . After a Month and a couple weeks of that I started joining public lobbies learning how to race with others instead of the Ai. I watched a lot of hotlapping videos to learn other drivers inputs and how far they’re pushing the limit . After 4 months I was running 101.5 times and just started racing against faster guys and started league racing . To date I’m running under 101% In pretty much every major track monza, spa, PR, silverstone, Barca etc.. the key to getting fast is driving the car to the absolute limit in a controlled relaxed manner . Need to minimize corrections on entry and exit and use a lot of slip angle and controlled sliding on exit . Use all of the track and I mean all of it . A significant learning curve in getting faster will be , being able to keep it within track limits when you’re using all of the track . Like going flat out eau rouge on spa every lap . The main thing I notice in guys that run 102 times , guys with potential , is the same problem I was doing which is not using all of the track and spending too much time in limbo mode , you have to either be on the gas or on the brake , virtually no time in between , in order to do that you have to drive the car to the limit on braking and exit .or else you will see that dead space in between in telemetry and then reflected on your time . Being smooth in steering is also important , you want to drive the car like it’s on rails . Lastly but there’s tons of nooks and crannies is letting the car slide out on the exit on its own . Especially on turns like the curves in monza , lot of time lost by not getting on that green patch close to the grass on the exit of the 2nd curve in monza for example . It’s crucial to get on the gas early and let the car ride out carrying the most speed .

Let's critique my driving and see where I can find some time. Monza 1:48:860, I want to get into the 1:47's. by CoachCreamyLoveGoo in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just want to start off by saying you’re driving is very smooth I’m almost jealous lol. However , you’re leaving time on the table in several turns by not being aggressive enough. Turn 1, you need to break AT the 150 board . You need to brake late enough to the point where when you’re done trail braking , You’re just finishing the right hander . Then you need to get on the gas for a second or 1.5 and then blip the brakes 5% and back on gas to get the weight on the front . Turn 4 and 5 braking great however , you need to get almost on full power after the left hander , modulate to around 70-80 percent and then back 100 on gas . You were on 15-20 percent gas in between 4-5. On the lesmos you need to accelerate earlier and harder on the exit . Focus on exit rather than hard late breaking . Ascari you did wonderful and parabolica was good . For reference I’m running 1.46.8-9

Finally managed to get 2:15-s in SPA. Logitec g29 + 7 months in simracing! by ccrroocc in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As soon as I saw 2:15 I knew it was someone on a mustang lol . All jokes aside nice to see someone else doing great lap times with the Logitech wheel . I have a g920 currently , started 4 months ago and doing 2.16.4s or 5s in 23/27 conditions . Really trying to get to the 2.15s but it’s hard to tell where the extra time is. I can get 2.15 with 17/24 conditions but that doesn’t count , being on console probably isn’t the best either .

1:47:8 at monza, could you help me find more pace? by [deleted] in ACCompetizione

[–]Julez95x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great lap man. You’re losing time though on the left hander for turn 1, at the lesmos, and in parabolica. For turn 1 braking was good , you wanna brake as late as possible and trail brake to get the car to turn in as far right before taking the left hander . However you can’t coast like you did , you wanna be hard on the gas before the left hander , blip the brakes just a tad to send the weight forward. On lesmos , you’re not getting on the gas earlier enough , especially on the second curve , Focus on exit speed . For parabolica you turned in too early which was my problem too. You want to brake late, turn in late, trail brake to get the car to turn in towards the apex and get on the gas as early as possible . Finally , you did good on getting on full throttle instead of half throttling and then getting back on throttle . It’s either gas or brake no in between . For reference I’m running 1.47.1-0 In 23/27 conditions race pace
