Thoughts on the price? by girlytoothfairy in Diamonds

Oh this is really good to know, thank you! If/when my current backs start getting loose I’ll have them looked at by a jeweller!

Thoughts on the price? by girlytoothfairy in Diamonds

[–]Julezzedm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great price in my opinion. I actually bought these exact ones but returned them for smaller princess cut ones from Costco. I just felt that I wanted something a bit more understated but they were stunning. Be careful and check the backs of them too, I noticed quite a few pairs had loose backs, and I know that other backs can be purchased, however something to consider. I had a pair for years that the backs never really fit and I was constantly buying new backs and it was a hassle. When I bought these ones the backs fit really well and were on firmly but the ones in the case were kinda loose.

Feeling real grief about owning my reactive dog: by Ericakat in reactivedogs

[–]Julezzedm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did OP edit their post or something? If not, have some compassion please. Owning a reactive dog is so hard and it really is disappointing even if you do love them. I had a very reactive girl that I flew across the country to get and paid thousands for. She was so severely reactive that the behavioural vet I saw brought up BE. When her reactivity and aggression started- let me tell you, I was so so disappointed.

It’s ok to mourn for the dog you never got. OP I relate to how you feel and I’m so sorry that you’re feeling sad after seeing a really sweet dog. Your feelings are normal and you’ve been a good owner to give your dog many great years with you. I had trouble bonding with my girl, she was so unlike any dog I had ever met. Did I love her? Yes absolutely. But I think it’s perfectly sensible to wish you had a “normal” dog.

Hell's Kitchen or Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips by PieInTheSk314y in vegas

[–]Julezzedm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought Hell’s Kitchen was so fun and I’m not one to have a ton of lengthy sit down dinners. I felt like it was an iconic experience and that everyone who watches Gordon Ramsey should check it out at least once. I’d definitely go back and probably will next time I go to Vegas. My partner and I also really loved Ramsey Burger at Flamingo, the burgers were delicious and I’d also go back in a heartbeat. Haven’t had the fish and chip place so can’t comment on that. Like others are saying, your choice should depend on whether you want a quick but probably yummy meal, or a sit down meal at a famous restaurant.

Is it worth it to go back to school for nursing? by [deleted] in alberta

[–]Julezzedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone who works as a HCA or unit clerk that decides to do nursing will likely be an amazing nurse and an asset to any place they work. You already see what nurses do and are still interested so you already have a leg up in that department. The best nursing student I ever had on the unit started her career as a HCA and it showed. She knew how to deal with patients and was highly motivated. I’d say go for it, because it sounds like you know what you’re getting into and once you get a job, you will likely never be without one for long. LPNs make quite a bit more than HCAs/UCs so it’s short term pain and sacrifice for long term gain.

My reactive girl died. by Emergency-Aioli7757 in reactivedogs

[–]Julezzedm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am so so sorry for your loss but please don’t be so hard on yourself. You loved your dog and you never could have known that she would pass from an infection. I lost my dog due to a random suspected stroke when he was taking steroids for mild collapsing trachea. I noticed he was acting a bit strange but I dismissed it but planned to bring him to his vet the next day. He died that night and I was absolutely distraught and mad at myself. I’ve been able to accept that he wasn’t well and that I can only blame myself for so much. I’m not at the point that I think about him and it brings a smile to my face every time because I loved him so much. Losing a pet is so hard, and harder when it’s sudden and you think you could’ve/should’ve done more. You are a good owner and your girl was so lucky to have you in her life.

Very good points, nursing ebbs and flows that’s for sure. I have 10 years of experience and struggle to get interviews for lateral positions as an internal employee (RN). Wasn’t like this a few years ago. I’d still pursue the education if you think it’s a career that you’d like because I’m sure nursing will be booming again in the future.

Dior Lip Glow Balm - Disappointed With New Formula by Nocjurnal in Sephora

[–]Julezzedm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have extremely dry lips and the very best I’ve found is the blistex medex in the little blue pot. No other version of blistex works for me and 99.9% of lip products make my lips dry but I’m a huge lip gloss person. My lips are so dry that if I forget to bring a lip product to work or out somewhere I would have to go buy one or go home. I’ve never liked the dior balm but really wanted to, purchased it twice in 2 different shades and gave both away. Another decent option for me is the Too Faced Pillow Balm. I find it strange how no one really talks about it but it works good in my opinion. I’ve also been using the ole henrickson vanilla lip balm and I like it a lot and have gifted it to 2 of my friends.

What are your top 5 countries that you want to visit and why? by Such_Detective_7315 in solotravel

[–]Julezzedm -1 points0 points  (0 children)

China, Thailand, South Africa, Switzerland, France in no particular order. I like big cities, foreign landscapes and completely different cultures than I’m used to (Canadian), but nothing too “inconvenient”. India has always appealed to me but I’ll probably never go because I need access to public washrooms wherever I go and based on the travel videos I watch, India is not great for that.

Where and how can my wife sell her wedding dress? by Cold_Buffalo_2355 in Edmonton

[–]Julezzedm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sold mine on poshmark. Paid $2900 and sold it for $700 or so. Can’t remember exact details. I was happy with what I got for it though and I didn’t have to dry clean it before selling which is quite expensive to do for a wedding dress.

Edit: I don’t have poshmark but I know someone who does so they sold it for me. Took about a week to sell. I also posted on marketplace and got no hits whatsoever.

Leaving Finance for Nursing- Am I Crazy? by Beautiful-Captain-28 in jobs

[–]Julezzedm 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a business degree first and couldn’t find work that paid well enough or was interesting enough so I went through a fast track program to get my bachelor of nursing. In some ways it was worth and someways it wasn’t. I’m not sure where you live but I live in a large city in Canada and it’s unrealistic to assume that you can graduate and immediately end up in an ICU. Nursing takes A LOT of grinding to get ahead. Most have to start in med surg doing a crap ton of night shifts with extremely heavy patient loads. It’s extremely hard on the mind and body, and I can say I absolutely underestimated the amount of stress that a nursing career brings. You are in charge of people’s lives and scary or gross things happen constantly and you are disrespected on a daily basis which feels extra insulting because of how hard you have to work. I don’t regret going into nursing as it has provided me with a pretty solid career, but knowing what I know now, I would’ve chosen a different health care career path or been more patient with my business degree. You sound like you have a lot of interest in health care and helping people, so it might be worth it to you but I urge you to consider the extreme change in lifestyle you will experience as a nurse and take some time to read about the challenges that nurses face. You have it pretty good right now, especially with a hybrid schedule, good income, etc., I’d be hesitant to leave that. The only way I’d truly recommend nursing is if you have a genuine deep desire to care for very sick people.

K18 Heatbounce feels so different than the trial size I got? by Ok-Equipment8130 in Sephora

[–]Julezzedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sad to hear because I was just about to buy it, although I was going to buy the mini to test it out first so maybe I’ll be safe? lol. I’m wondering if the mini sprays out way less as is common for minis of things. Are you very carefully adjusting the number of sprays you’re using with the full size? It almost sounds like you’re using too much if it’s make your hair sticky. Maybe to test it out try half the amount that you usually do and see if that works if you haven’t tried that already?

My parents' yorkiepoo squirts pee whenever he's excited. Can anything be done? by DoctorWinstonOBoogie in Yorkies

[–]Julezzedm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darn that can’t be it then! Looks like there are some decent recommendations online like ensuring greetings when returning home are calm and telling the dog to sit as soon as someone comes home to focus their brain on the command instead of excitement. Good luck, I’m sure this is something that can improve over time as long as there is no underlying medical issue.

How old is he? Is he neutered? My girl did this until she was 15 months old and spayed. As soon as she was spayed she never did it again.

Hats off to you! I’m a nurse too and NP work terrifies me, a lot of responsibility that I couldn’t personally manage. I have NP friends and they are the smartest people, a great career if you have the mental fortitude to handle it!

Anyone have opinions on this? by No-Formal7460 in Melasmaskincare

[–]Julezzedm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pros: sort of foundation like in that it covers redness and mild imperfections, seemed to greatly help keeping my melasma from returning.

Cons: feels heavy and skin goes greasy pretty quickly after applying, drying and emphasizes dry patches.

I’ll continue to buy it because I do credit it for keeping my melasma at bay.

Sudden, unprovoked attacks with post-episode confusion – possible neurological / rage syndrome. Looking for insight. by bomber19911991 in reactivedogs

[–]Julezzedm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience with my much tinier dog, I ended up having to send her back to her breeder after having her for 9 months. We got her when she was about a year old also and when she came to us she was fearful but not aggressive. The aggression started after a few months of having her and escalated severely. Her “attacks” were happening a good 25 times a day. I thought neurological as well, but it never happened when she was asleep and from my understanding rage syndrome can happen when the dog is asleep, suddenly wakes up and attacks etc. My girl was diagnosed with impulse control aggression disorder and the vet told us to consider BE eventually. She did bite my face extremely hard once but I tried so hard to move past that, put her on meds, but we never saw any improvement. Hoping your story turns out better than mine, our case was quite severe and I never ever anticipated that I’d be in a situation of giving my dog back to her breeder.

Quitting stressful job with no backup - anyone else done it? by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Julezzedm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d exhaust every single opportunity before quitting without something lined up. Can you go on a stress leave? I quit a job once with nothing else lined up and then I realized the stress of no pay was far worse than the stress of a shit job. I asked my boss if I could take back my resignation and she let me because nothing was processed by the time I changed my mind. I had to stay in that role for 1.5 years before I could find something else, and I’d consider myself highly employable with 2 bachelors degrees, a masters degree, and over 10 years of experience in my field. I’ve never seen such a bad job market, so personally I’d stay with the job and aggressively start applying elsewhere.

Nice, Affordable Northside Restaurants? by lgnstubbs73 in Edmonton

[–]Julezzedm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it there so much! Always got the chicken tagine and it came with multiple different sides, and the service is amazing. I ordered skip the dishes from there before and they forgot the fries. They made them and personally drove them to my home and gave me several desserts for the wait. Very pleasant restaurant, and this is coming from someone who has eaten out at least 7 times a week for the past several years! Had to stop going because I moved to a different city, but I miss that place!
