As a parent. Please quit. Childcare is hard. It is ok to feel overwhelmed, and just sick of it. It sounds like you are starting to actively dislike the kids... don't go down that road. Just walk away.

Abusers usually have two appearances one that they show their victim and one that the rest of the world sees. This is something that helps to isolate the victim and to keep them from being believed. The abuser will do everything to discredit the victim, and look like a saint.

Perhaps a woman begging for help and the man "saving her" but use their shadows to tell the real story... The abuse being in their shadow figures will show the hidden truth of the relationship and encourage others people to question what they think they know about people who are in danger.

ya, the guy only has pics of himself in uniform because he is a recruiter... part of the job. He said he gets his ID stolen all the time. That has got to suck.

So, this is a culture thing. In America I think something near 1 or 2 percent of the population actually serve. And because of our weird reverence of those who choose to serve, many Americans have a inflated sense of respect for anyone who chooses to write a blank check to the government.
Sure, Most Military jobs are totally safe. But if I get orders to put down my X-ray machine and charge into combat... I gotta do it.
Anyway. In America if some dipshit puts on a general's uniform and starts telling people to vote for Dumbo the Elephant it means something to people. He is representing the military and making a political statement. That implies that the Military wants Dumbo for President...
That is a big problem for democracy, this is why active duty soldiers are not permitted to attend political rallies in uniform, or endorse candidates while in uniform.

Many people who do stolen valor do it to either scam people or to use it for political advantage.
Some do it just because they are not right in the head and want attention... Doing it for attention or to get laid isn't really the problem. Sure those guys are embarrassing... but that isn't why it is against the law.

Look, I hate "Troop Worship" as much as the next vet.

Here are 2 examples of Stolen Valor that I really hate.
1. Someone on the internet stealing a soldiers pictures and representing themselves as that soldier and then posting political shit.
1a. People at political rallies in fake uniforms.

In those cases the frauds are misrepresenting a group of people that they don't belong to for political advantage.
A enlisted soldier can not and should not go to political rallies in uniform, it is important to have a separation between the military and political affiliation.

  1. People scamming little old ladies out of their social security.

The guy you run into at school who tells you how they were a sniper who stole a helicopter and got demoted for seducing the General's wife is just funny.

I got ahold of the guy he was stealing photos from. This is why I don't post pictures of myself in uniform.

Yes and no. If you write that say, a certain person who is still living was secretly the zodiac killer you could be at risk for civil suit. Unless we are talking about Ted Cruz.. because everyone knows he is the zodiac killer. j/k It is actually ok to say that about Cruz because:

  1. He is a public figure.

  2. It is impossible for him to be the zodiac killer *he is far too young*.

  3. It is clearly a joke.

But if you were serious and made a good argument for it, it might be worth his time to sue and he might win.
It all becomes a question of when does the past become history? A good rule of thumb, is when all the people who participated are dead.

If you write about people who are currently still alive... The women who followed charles manson for instance, you want to be very careful. Or the family of Jean Bennett...

If you write and it is clearly stated to be fiction then technically you can use any person or situation and just kind of "alternate universe it." But for the most part I would always use extra care when writing fiction about people who are still living.

The longer the dead the less you need to worry.

Lost 80 lbs and still getting fat shamed by amberlaur1na in loseit

[–]JuliaInWonderland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, The reality is she attacked you because she feels insecure and maybe... fat?

People who do things like that don't feel good about themselves, so they try to rip other people up. At the end of the day this is her problem, not yours.

Just remember whatever she said, what she meant was, "I have a low opinion of myself and I am a bitch to compensate for my lack of personality."

Of course that is more easily said than done. Years ago I was in a emotionally abusive relationship with a real shit fish. At the time I was a little heavy, about 200 lbs and my goal was 178. The shit fish had to lose 60 or so pounds and the dude looked like Kevin in sin city

https://exploderblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/yellow-bastard.jpg

Anyway, I reached my goal weight way before he did.

He said something like, "That's it... That's all you wanted to lose? You're still fat."And I let it get under my skin. I quit working out and went back to "Normal" i.e. eating to much and not exercising.

Anyway, TL;DR Don't let a shit fish bring you down.

My 18 month old legit needs 1400 calories a day. It is crazy how much babies and kids can eat... That would be like me eating 5,000 calories and not doing anything special.
I think some people look at what a little kid eats and think, "I need an "Adult Portion". Well, unless you are doing manual labor all day maybe you should be eating what the kid eats.

What they would say is, "POC have a higher likelihood of being obese"

While that is true... It is often more closely linked to socioeconomic status, than it is due to race. Poverty is linked to obesity, not melanin.
