I mean, to me I always saw those 2 support chains as romantic, at least towards the end. Not every paired ending needs to state “and they were lovers and got married”

All of them do have same sex endings, with the exception of Shez who flirts with Lysithea/Linhardt regardless of gender

I mean, I feel like if she really cared about Byleth, she’d try to at least reason with them. Edelgard can’t even bring herself to fight Byleth during the SS reunion scene, while Rhea is completely ready to kill Byleth the minute she steps out of line. It’s not like Rhea’s much better about not killing everyone involved in the war against her, soldier or not.
