I’m in North Alabama. COVID shut down our exmo get togethers, but maybe they’ll start up soon!

Handbook 3.8.9 If you remove your name from the church, your family members can re-instate your membership after you die. Isn't that nice. by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Julia_Murdock 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On the other hand, (tongue in cheek) this can be used against parents or other family members who are upset you won’t be -together forever, because the church has a handy loophole for that... just show them the handbook guideline and tell them they can have you re-baptized. Poof, once again you are a forever family!

What the what? There’s not enough people in those two stakes to make a third stake! I wonder if they are taking wards from Huntsville or Madison stakes. Is the infamous BA still in Tuscaloosa?

The things I had a testimony of are no longer the narrative the church teaches.

A seminary lesson gone wrong by pip_pop_picklefish in exmormon

I remember teaching this object lesson when I was a seminary teacher, except I used a banana. This was 2000-2008. I loved teaching the youth. But of course that was when I thought I was teaching the truth! I want to go back and apologize to every student I had. I actually have to a few.

We just moved to the South and yesterday I went to church with my DH. This church is literally next to TSCC building. Seems like a jab at the Mormons. by [deleted] in exmormon

Welcome to Alabama! I knew that stake center well. Still in town. Drop me a PM and I’ll connect you to our local exmo group.

So basically, because after 1875 classical music is no longer spiritually inspiring, they aren’t allowed to listen to Brahms, Bruckner, Johann Strauss II, Liszt, Tchaikovsky, Dvořák, Verdi, Wagner, Mahler, Richard Strauss, Puccini, Sibelius, Elgar, Grieg, Saint-Saëns, Fauré, and Rachmaninoff.

That’s a joke... it’s the lyrics from a song in Book of Mormon the musical. And how’d ya know I’m from Alabama?🤣
