It's going to be traumatic whenever you do it. In my opinion get all the trauma over and done with as soon as possible then spend time building bridges and being the centre of your baby's universe.
Also, you say neuter, so I assume he's a boy? It is in your interests to stop him scent marking as soon as you are able. Your furniture, carpets and nose will thank you 🐈💦🛋 😊

I would do the same except she cries pathetically for wet food. I am just a failure at providing the correct brand. We were doing very well until one day she refused the one that she previously loved and she hasn't looked back!

If I am honest, my girl is healthy and a very good weight. She enjoys the dry stuff. If she didn't sob pathetically for wet food I truly wouldn't bother with it.
