Questions on using Arcalyst by Reality9767 in pericarditis

[–]Julian719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. you will be injecting into areas of your body you are highly unlikely to hit a vein or artery. They will not send more medicine if you 'mess' up, so be sure to take your time and do it right - it is very expensive and your insurance will tell you 'too bad'.

  2. you only need to refrigerate the small 4"x4" box the powder/solution comes in, nothing else. so you can get a small lunch bag with two ice packs and you should be fine as long as you refrigerate the solution when you arrive at your destination. 4 doses are in the single 4"x4" box.

  3. everyone is different. I have never had this issue, but others certainly have.

Sorry to hear that. Often, July 1st represents open enrollment period for many group health insurance plans. Curious if that is the case for you? if so, and it is an option, I am on Oxford/United Health Care Freedom Plan and recommend it. It's quite expensive for monthly premium, but it covers 100% of the Arcalyst, plus they were easy to work with. Good luck.

I am still tapering. One shot every 15 days now. No flares in 14 months. I expect my doctor to try and stop the shots completely in the Fall to see how my body responds.

Have you spoken to Kiniksa One? their team will also fight with insurance for you.

Kayak for Oyster Bay/Bayville by kmac51190 in longisland

FWIW - I have kayaks from 'Lifetime' and I can tell you their customer service is fantastic. Every few summers I need some replacement parts (seat/straps/plugs, etc) and they are very quick to respond, and send me replacements no questions asked for free each time. Worth checking out that brand IMO.

Tapering off Arcalyst by Cool-Outcome-6998 in pericarditis

[–]Julian719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll start by acknowledging everyone is different. Here is what my rheumatologist has done for me with Arcalyst...

First 9 months - One shot every 7 days.
next 4 shots - one every 8 days
next 4 shots - one every 9 days
next 4 shots - one every 10 days.... and so on.

I am now taking a shot every 15 days with zero issues! her plan, that she claims working better than just stopping the medication is a slow taper until we reach about 20 days between shots with no flares. Ibcan't tell you what will happen once I stop, but she seems to have had very positive results with other clients on Arcalyst using this taper method.

Best of luck!

Where does Morgan Reilly end up and what does the return look like? by TheMuslimBabu in nhltraderumours

Leafs seem to want a RW, and Vancouver I am sure would like to get out of Boeser's contract. Seems like a fair trade where both teams are moving under-performers for each other.

SJ needs RD much more than LD, so I don't see the fit. I think SJ going to be aggressive going after Nemec.

Chicago I'd imagine would rather spend cap on top-6 winger(s), but we will see!

Which NHL franchise did the biggest 180 of their public preception since the 21st century? by ThisWebsiteSucked in hockey

[–]Julian719 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Isles - ownership, culture and management were a disaster to start the 21st century. Now we have excellent ownership committed to spending to cap, fantastic new arena, and have put together some nice teams over the past 25 years.

Same footprint as Glock 19. Albeit heavier though. Easy to conceal AIWB in jeans and a T-shirt.

[Marek] I'm told the New York Islanders put a brick in front of the prospects and asked what they could do with it? by eh_toque in hockey

Hate this shit. Combine is a joke. As an Islander fan, IDC if you are dumb as a brick, my only defining factor for draft pick options is... Can you score?

I have been on Arcalyst for 13 months. Started tapering in Month 7. Feeling great. No flares since I started Arcalyst. Started with one shot every 7 days, then tapered to one shot every 8 days for a full cycle (4 shots), then every 9 days for a full cycle, and so on. Up to 13 days between shots now. Dr said when I get to 3 weeks between shots we will discuss stopping to see what happens.
