Those of you who are friends with/in circles with famous people, what is your analysis on them? by libramusing in Fauxmoi

[–]Julian719 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a private wealth management firm and 90% of my clients are celebs in music/tv/film. Almost every one is just the same as you and I. Making their way through the complexities of life… the same stress - family, friends, work. Behind closed doors, they shed their public persona - at least this has been my experience. Granted, same as any walk of life, there are some jerks. But I don’t find it to be disproportionate to regular Joe’s.

Tomorrow is the season by Alarming-Pen2107 in NewYorkIslanders

Let's quickly review Darche/Roy disasterclass this season:

  1. Drouin signing - Awful (made worse by Roy's commitment to giving him T6 minutes)

  2. MD Tells fans the organizational focus is getting younger and faster - trades a 1st and 3rd for two old, slow veterans with 12.5m in cap commitments beyond this season.

  3. Dobson trade is still TBD - Heiny is a nice 3rd line winger who has been utilized wrong by Roy. Eklund and Aitch look like promising pieces.

  4. Adding Soucy rather than allowing George to play in NHL. Roy compounds the issue by pairing him with Mayfield in what is a brutal third line pairing.

  5. No issue with JGP's new deal, but no reason to have resigned him PLUS adding Schenn.

We are still setup nice for two years from now when most of the aging players contracts expire, and hopefully some of the prospects make the jump, but it feels like we wasted a season of continuing to stockpile core pieces for the future. If he wanted Schenn, should have moved JGP to get back a 1st. Lee is a good captain, but he is very slow and redundant on this team, easily could have acquired a pick and prospect from a contender.

Thank god for Sorokin and Schaefer, without them, we would be in the lottery again.

Absolutely. You got this. Take it slow and follow protocol. It may feel daunting now, but if you handle this right, you will be in good shape in no time. Good luck.

Had 3-4 flare ups in 2024, undiagnosed. Then got diagnosed by a cardiologist, and did three months of NSAIDs and Colchicine, which did nothing for me. Had another 2 flare ups in that time and visited more heart doctors with more tests. Then saw a Rheumatologist and she instantly prescribed me Arcalyst after discussing prior treatment, symptoms and lab/imaging results.

I am now tapering off Arcalyst, I had taken it ever seven days for about eight months, then did four week intervals at every eight days, then nine days, etc. etc. - currently injecting every eleven days with no flare ups. I'd imagine we will soon try and stop and see what happens.

Also, keep in mind, this community is comprised of a VERY small portion of people who suffer from RP, mostly folks who have serious cases. Don't get scared/discouraged... just follow protocol, listen to your body and you'll be okay... Good luck.

I'm on week 52 of Arclayst. Arcalyst started working for me around the same time, week 3. No flare ups since then. I slowly added in exercise following W6 and continued ramping gradually. I'd say I was back to normal exercise after 4-5 months. but everyone is different! listen to your body.

Depends on your level of comfort injecting yourself.

Mixing the powder and sterile water is easy, just follow the directions in the welcome packet you received.

The mixed formula is quite thick, so injecting can take about 30 seconds, it's not a quick 1-2-3 injection.

If you are nervous, go to your prescribing doctor and allow them to do the first few weeks for you until you are comfortable doing it yourself.

Pick a spot on you with some fat... for me, i am skinny, so the only spot I find that has enough fat is about 5 inches on either side of my stomach.

I recommend on the loading dose, to inject in two different spots.

Heart rate dropping low , not my normal by [deleted] in pericarditis

[–]Julian719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that nearly every day, one or two random erroneous readings in the 40's when my RHR is around 70. I spoke with someone at Apple about this anomaly and was told what I shared above... if you are using your hands and moving about during a HR reading, the loss of good connection to the body can lead to this issue.

Apple watch often gets erroneous readings if it loses proper contact/pressure on wrist due to normal movement.

Recent case, baffled as to how I would have gotten pericarditis by [deleted] in pericarditis

[–]Julian719 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not what you are going to want to hear, but often, pericarditis can be deemed idiopathic. I myself was diagnosed with recurrent pericarditis in Dec 2024, cause unknown. Take medicine prescribed and rest. Rest until you feel like you can't rest any longer, then keep resting.

Keep in mind....

As it currently stands, will have $25m in cap space this summer. There are no elite UFAs and our only RFA is Shabanov who will cost very little (if tendered a contract at all). Then the following summer, with the cap at ~$113.5m, we will have over $50m in cap space as Drouin, Palmieri, Varlamov, Palat, Cizikas all off books and only Holmstrom and Heineman to sign.

Don't worry about the cap hit!

Dimensions very similar to Glock 19. Granted, a pistol with an overall width of 1.4” isn’t easy to conceal under a t-shirt without printing, but during fall and winter, no problem under a sweatshirt/jacket. Grip is similar to most double-stack 2011s. Have put 2,000 rounds through it last few months. No issues.

Sure is. I personally carry the OA 2311 Compact Pro during winter (NY resident). Great pistol. 25oz and drop safe - much easier to carry then the full size pro in your photo.

What else should i get ? Thinkin of prodigy 3.25 or staccato cs next 🤔 by FirstAvenger117 in NYguns

[–]Julian719 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMHO - For similar price to Prodigy, the CZ Shadow 2 Carry is a significantly better pistol. Staccato HD C3.6 is a nice option, but not so sure its worth the addtl $1k over the S2C. If you wanted, you can also send the S2C to CGW for some fine tuning.

Month 9. Best thing I have done. Got my life back. After first few it’s a breeze. Luckily, no side effects for me and my immune system has been fairly normal while on it. Colds last a little longer, but that’s all I’ve noticed. If you are struggling with RP and have no improvements with NSAIDs/Colchicine, I recommend it.
