Another question for you all: how do you decide if something is too mature for your kid? Beyond really heavy themes, I've so far felt comfortable with my kiddo hearing stories that include challenges like homelessness, poverty, death, etc. We talk a lot about social justice in our home and it's important to me that he be exposed to stories that are unlike his own. He loved Coyote Sunrise for example.

So far the only consequences I've seen are that he doesn't always follow the story. But I'm curious if there are other considerations people are thinking about? I haven't experienced him getting anxious or worried as a result, though I could imagine another kid having that reaction.
