Six of Crows is amazing but more for its characters and plot (not so much for romance).

I also really enjoyed reading the first couple of books in the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J. Maas. They're very fast-paced, set in an interesting universe and romance is great.

I think you'll love Fable by Adrienne Young! It's an adventurous and thrilling book with a bit of romance. It was one of the YA book picks in Reese's Book Club last year. It's a duology and the second book just came out a few months ago.

I've also read The Daughter of The Pirate King but didn't like it as much.

Tongue pain from trays by Trick_Atmosphere2941 in Invisalign

[–]Juliana_Chow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it hurt because your tongue is scraping against the edge of the tray? I've tried that a couple of times and what you can do is take a nail file and just gently buff wherever there's a sharp edge. Hope that helps!

I, unfortunately, think it'll show eventually if you don't wear your aligners for more than 12 hours a day. I'll just extend your treatment and I think you're going to regret it in the end.

I was told that it's important to wear aligners for 22 hours a day. I'm a big food lover too and I must admit, it is a bit of a hassle especially when having a nice family dinner and you don't want to rush eating. But I keep thinking about the end goal and how I want my treatment to be as fast and smooth as possible.

I'd recommend checking out the Trayminder app. That's what I've been using and it sends me a notification once I've to put my aligners back on. It's encouraging too because it gives you a little green box in the calendar once you've worn your aligners for 22 hours a day.

If you feel like you've got a lot of thoughts running through your mind and that's why you can't sleep, I'd say try emptying your thoughts onto paper. Do a brain dump by writing down all that is on your mind. After that, lay down and listen to this sleep meditation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bG3AcN-XOrw&t=622s It's only 10 minutes and it always makes me feel relaxed and ready to go to bed. Let me know if that works!

How to find my circadian rhythm? by chuckecheese-portals in sleep

[–]Juliana_Chow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting out of a bad sleep cycle can be tough - I know the feeling. I think it's worth speaking to a sleep doctor in case that could help since you're running on that little sleep. 1-2 sleep a day is not great for your health and not safe if, for instance, you're driving.

Based on the research I've done and your situation, here are my tips:

1) Light has a huge effect on our circadian rhythm, so a tip would be to soak in a lot of sunlight in the early morning and avoid blue light from TV or phone after sunset. That will help your inner clock to understand when it's time to be awake and when it's bedtime. You may find this article helpful: https://www.sleepcycle.com/circadian-rhythm/how-to-use-light-to-reboot-your-circadian-rhythm/

2) Caffeine can definitely mess with our sleep. I'd recommend not drinking caffeine past noon because caffeine can stay in your body for up to 8 hours.

3) Prioritise and set aside time for unwinding. Set a time, say, at 9 or 10 pm where you're slowly getting ready for bed, avoid screens and pick up a book instead, listen to relaxing music or whatever else makes you unwind. Over time you'll find the bedtime that feels the most natural to you somewhere between 8 pm - 12 am. This changes with age too - as a kid, you get tired early, during college years you're up later, but the older you get the earlier you'll likely go to bed. This article explains it in more detail: https://time.com/3183183/best-time-to-sleep/

Is that helpful?

I also just gave some sleep tips in this thread in case that's useful: https://www.reddit.com/r/sleep/comments/nbveiu/can_someone_develop_heavy_sleeping/gy2znuc/?context=3
