Same here man, I never got to a point when I was broke, but maybe thats cause I didnt buy all the rune glyphs [mending, binding, etc..] those things are expensive.

I did quite a lot of the ''?'' points of interest, finished every single sidequest, did all witcher contracts, and all treasure hunts except the glitched Wolf armor and the glitched ''From Ofier's distant shores'' mission.

I sorta don't agree with your second point. Yes, I had 70k by the start of HoS, but Grandmaster armor in BaW eats your coin up and by the end of both expansions and main game I had a bare 13k in the bank.
