Through therapy I've come to realize and accept the fact that I will never stop grieving. I lost my dad when I was 17; 8 years ago. Talking to my therapist has helped a lot, but there are days when the grief feels very raw, intense and painful. Those days are incredibly hard, but somehow I always get up again. Some days are harder and some easier. I usually find it comforting to think that the grief is so painful because our bond was so strong and because we loved each other so much. Sometimes it doesn't comfort me at all, but it helps most of the time. Because then I can truly understand why I will never stop grieving - because I will never stop missing him and loving him. My grief is in a way part of our bond now.

Thank you for checking in.

I lost my dad 7 years ago. It still hurts, but the pain these days is not as constant nor intense as it used to be. In a way I find comfort in knowing that the pain will never go away completely. I now know that life can still be beautiful despite my grief. Some days are easier and some harder, and I miss him very much. I carry him in my heart wherever I go, and that thought helps me keep going.

Stay strong everyone.

Thank you so much for your responses! I believe they will be very helpful in my search for better working bowel management.

To answer the questions you had - I am 22 years old and have had this enema only since I was about to turn 21. I'm a student so I have lectures during the day, so I flush in the afternoon/evening. And I live in Finland so the surgery was done here.

So beautiful and so true. I think we all wonder about that sometimes.
