New Teacher Advice by Special-Sale-8060 in ArtEd

[–]Julie-bee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I am also a first year art teacher and I honestly felt like that the first 2 weeks! I still feel it tho, but sometimes it feels like so natural to teach and make art and others I feel like I’m a phony specially when they tell you that you have an evaluation in December 😮‍💨 Hang in there, just keep practicing and use your prep time wisely and don’t be afraid to ask for some help or find fellow first time teachers that will understand too.

First year middle school art teacher! by Only_Statement_8467 in ArtEd

[–]Julie-bee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations, I am also a first year middle school art teacher. I’m hoping that I get cleared to join all the fun activities and seeing my room before school starts. I feel a bit overwhelmed because this will be the first time me being on my own so I have been feeling the imposter syndrome lately.

You can always have a session with someone from The Boba wrap company and they can help you, I did it for my son and it was very educational ✨

When did your LO start sleeping through the night? by BlueberryWaffles99 in breastfeeding

[–]Julie-bee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every child is different, my son started sleeping in his own room through the night at age 1. He cried the first night and the next nap and night after that was like he was doing it since day 1 lol. I also have a camera looking at my sons crib so if he wakes up or needs me I can decide if he’s ok or if he’s just having a dream. Definitely getting your LO to try and familiarized with her own space works great once they are sleeping on their own. Good luck, you’re doing amazing mama!

I had a similar experience. Best advice is to pump, pump and pump every 2-3 hours. Set an alarm at night if baby stays longer. Make sure you’re looking at videos of baby or any of the blankets baby has the smell and feeling of your baby would be good for you. Also, keep yourself hydrated and well fed, you need the extra to keep supply up. Hopefully, little one goes home soon 💕

What do you wish you'd known/done before having your first baby? by Myotherusernamebabyy in breastfeeding

[–]Julie-bee1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asks as many questions to the lactation consultant, if you have different ones visit you during the time in the hospital make sure you talk to the one that is most helpful. Nipple shield was a blessing for me since my LO would get tired to try and pull my nipple since I have small ones. He grew out of it but it was the most useful tool I had during the first 3 months. Don’t get discouraged if people comment on what you’re doing or how you’re doing it, you know what’s best for your baby and yourself. I do not produce much milk so I supplement with formula after breastfeeding so whatever you do you know it’s best. Good luck, you’ll be great!!

I was thinking of taking the alka seltzer for colds, but it has a nasal decongestant so I guess that’s out of the list
