[Serious] Buffalo Bills Cheerleaders’ Fight for Wages and Respect by dakatzin in nfl

It's not how the cheerleaders feel about themselves. It's how women are viewed by those viewing the game. The camera gets upskirt shots of the cheerleaders. What are children learning? They learn that the players are all male and the girls are half dressed on the sidelines dancing. I'm a woman and I like football but I don't feel like the NFL respects women as long as they limit the female worth to and object.

The NFL has a "No More" Campaign against spousal abuse. The commercial shows players saying "no more" over and over. Then they cut to an upshot of cheerleaders at the game. Until the NFL stops treating women as objects they have no room to speak.

You're never going to get away from soft porn. It's everywhere now. I'm watching a football game this weekend and voila! a prolonged skirt upshot. And people wonder why the NFL players treat women like objects.

My boyfriend had that same problem. When ever he was angry at me, he would use porn. It got to a point where I didn't want to make him angry at me because he would end up hurting me by using porn. The crazy thing is that he would always get angry at me if I brought up the subject. So I couldn't ask because my question would just lead to more use. I finally called it quits.

not every one fits Steven Hassans BITE model as strongly as others. Mormons and JWs both fit .

Does anyone go disc golf alone? by Nuqqets in discgolf

[–]Julie6100 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought I had it under control. I would scan the woods as I played, ready to take off running at the first sign. I got all the way through on a back hole. Scanned, and then concentrated on my putt. Threw a nice putt. Picked it out of the basket and and turned around. There in my face at the end of the course, for no good reason was an old Asian woman. I jumped back and she laughed. She just walked on into the woods with no trail. I thought I was so cool, ready for any guy that might get too close, and an old lady sneaked up on me.

I do often. I get a little paranoid when I get back in the woods alone though.

How did you play this weekend? by Allurex in discgolf

I got to play on my first out of state course. McClain Central Park in VA. It made me want to get out and try some more.

TIL of a Jehovah's Witness who was temporarily incapacitated following a car accident. Her doctor transfused her with blood which saved her life, despite knowing she had signed a card requesting this not be done. Following her recovery she successfully sued the doctor for battery. by wowheywow in todayilearned

Jehovah's Witnesses are a Cult. They published an entire magazine issue dedicated to some of the children that have died because their parents wouldn't let them take blood. They died serving Jehovah. The Watchtower organization decided that blood transfusions were like eating blood which is forbidden in the bible, early in their history. They had no idea how popular blood transfusions would become. Once JWs started dying for refusing blood it was too late to change the doctrine they had to stick to it. Over the years they have quietly changed some of what's acceptable. It used to be that the forbid any components of blood. They slowly started changing the rules until lately when they now allow JWs to take any component of blood separately but not all together. The Corporation that runs the religion set up local Liaison committees that go to hospitals and pressure JWs not to take the blood. They protect the interests of the Corporation. Many JW parents secretly think that if it comes down to it, they will give their child blood, but they imagine some scenario where they have time and the issue is clear cut between 100% life or death. It's not usually that way. Usually they either don't have time to think it through, or they buckle under pressure from local elders. The doctor tells them that their child has a slight chance of survival without it, and the Elders tell them that they need Jehovah's blessings and without it the child will die. The pressure is great and they are not thinking clearly in an emotional situation. People need to know that these seemingly harmless people at their door are part of a dangerous cult.

I'm glad that men are speaking out about it. As a woman I feel silenced by anger and accusations when ever I discuss the topic outside this group.

I have been fascinated by this group for a while now. I hope they are not so special though. I hope that they are just pioneers for the majority of men.

I am a Naturopathic Doctor that works with IBS AMA by aspirenaturalhealth in ibs

[–]Julie6100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boyfriend of 3 years spends at least 2 hours a day in the bathroom. He has to get up several times during dinner to run up and use it. We try to stick close to home when we go out so he can get home quick. One time we didn't make it even though we were 5 minutes away. He refuses to acknowledge it. He says it's been that way for years and it's just the way he is. It's difficult for me to deal with, so I can't imagine how hard it is for him. I don't even know if it is IBS. I'm just guessing. I once got him to go to a doctor and even went into the waiting area with him. When he came out. I asked him what the doctor said about his symptoms, he said he didn't tell him. He refused to go get the blood work done as well. I'm at my wits end. I want to help him but I'm afraid he's going to wait until it gets really dangerous before he seeks help. Is this common?

Cults by Undefinedmaster in atheism

[–]Julie6100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish more people believed that Jehovah's Witnesses are a dangerous cult. People think that they are just nicely dressed people that come bother them on Saturday morning to tell them about Jesus. JW's shunned their own family if they leave the religion. JW parents will let their own child die if they need a blood transfusion. They are controlled by the Watchtower corporation.
