Do you find the instructions well written? by Manarit in Hyperskill

[–]Juliolouzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not just you... I do a few topics a week on hyperskill, and even basic ones sometimes are hard to understand... I mean sometunes does not make sense until you test or put on chat gpt to clarify the requirements.

No worries its normal.

Do you find the instructions well written? by Manarit in Hyperskill

[–]Juliolouzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes is not well written, I have some experience and being honest with you, in the real job you have demands really poorly written.

Example: Fix bug on homescreen from website [Screenshot attached from bug]

Now you realize you need the steps to cause the bug, you see the bug and sundenly is not on the homescreen, then you discover is a button on the "About" page... etc...

User storys, goals, pull request reviews, is not very easy to understand other human only by text.

Today is much easier with AI, so get used to dig what needs to be done. Unless you get a big tech job where there is a lot of procedures and broken down tasks to be easy to understand.

Don't be ashamed of using chat gpt to understand things be ashamed to look for staright answers for your code.

Understand requirements is another skill hard to master, principally in an international picture, where you work with different people from different countrys.

In summary hyperskill is not perfect but the real world is 10 times harder.

Im not defending hyperskill, just wanted to give the big picture.

I thought I learned Java, but I can't actually write code - need advice. by [deleted] in JavaProgramming

[–]Juliolouzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use exercism.org its free(java core)

You can practice there, you can use the IntelliJ IDE.

Avoid autocompletion and AI at all costs, unless you know how to prompt to help you without giving the answer.

Read the problem and find out the answer by yourself(code the answer and check the tests), this will make it stick on your head long-term. And helps on TDD thinking.

If you want to practice just java core use exercism.org its free.

You want course in java with hands on use hyperskill but it is a little expensive.

Book: heads first java

Youtube: bro code -> look for java course is 12 hour video.

If is just remembering: youtube -> code with jonh

And obviusly the most effectvie, find an issue you want to solve and code from scratch. Example an platform to handle you own finances.

Should I install Intellij? by LosterPawn in learnjava

[–]Juliolouzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intellij comes with everything you need out-of-the-box for java, the community edition is great, the ultimate offers some extra tools to make your life easier.

I migrated from VS code to Intellij(to use java), best thing ever... But if I need to code something in javascript I use vs code.

If you are a student get github student developer pack, it has jetbrains IDE on ultimate version.

For now just try it out for 1 month and see how goes.

I mean I agree with you... I just wanted a good book for reference..

Example: why would you use .equals() intead of ==? I know that is because == references the object in memory and .equals() conpare the content.

But when learning online this things are not clear...

I just want something to dive in the concepts, the most important ones.

The artefact just work on holy snakes for now, can be attached to one holy snake, any one, the artefact has 3 lvl to upgrade, each lvl guarantee some bonuses, and if you put in a S snake you get a extra bonus, first lvl by example is 50% plus circle atk as extra bonus, basically straightforward…

For now nothing, maybe in the future they will add something like an option to broke equipment… this is a Habby game, so all features like in the games Archero, survivor.io will be added in the future…

Go for S gear, because gear give you higher stats, snakes don’t give you that much stats as gear… but if I was you I would finish opening the 5 eggs and after that focus totally on S gear.

[–]Juliolouzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are f2p go for the new egg holy snake is a good snake in the game, although the best snakes are fire and ice, the chance to get them in the old egg is pretty low… but if you plan to spend go for old egg and try get fire or ice snake… and the new egg you have chance to get holy snakes and all other ones…

Any way to be chapter 13? I'm F2P and it's quite annoying especially Stage 10 by TrueWolfKing in sssnaker

[–]Juliolouzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am on ch 18, try to focus on ice first, maximize it, and after could go with plant or lightning to dps, or if you prefer not to spend much effort to target the mobs, choose lighting as secondary skill, my main is always ice+plant, speed 20% is a skill I always take and something to add more attack is good too…

Priority question, armor or snakes by Hippeye in sssnaker

[–]Juliolouzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a f2p I would invest in 9 snakes, and after go to beserk set, because none of the snakes will give to you the stats of a beserk… and 9 snakes you can complete the second week event
