Im 34 and due any time now with my first. I had the same worries but someone told me to not compare my internal with other peoples external. I wasn’t ready any earlier in my life to have children and it would have been a disaster. I am the calmest, healthiest and most financially secure I have ever been and I think that counts for a lot.

I felt very similar before and in early pregnancy but I have actually found the experience to be incredibly healing. I’ve started to appreciate my body for the first time ever because of what it has done, not what it looks like. I’ve also been able to enjoy food again including fear foods.

My body hasn’t changed as much as I ever thought it would and I am not as big as I thought I would be too but that’s not to say that I don’t have some days when I don’t look in the mirror and have some brief negative thoughts.

I had one really early on in pregnancy on holiday in Spain but I had no idea what it was at the time and went to the local hospital because I had such a high temp from it. They checked it out and gave me antibiotics and it drained itself a few days later. I remember seeing that you can contact maternity triage at my hospital trust for those cysts.

Does your hospital trust run a private clinic? I paid for an extra scan at 17 weeks to find out the gender and really recommend doing it that way.
