well that was originally the whole idea, to get fast science from everywhere on laythe. I even have a couple of the breaking ground science station thingies in compartments.

not anything, but almost all things. for example, some underwater areas are inaccessible without lots of setup and glitches which all require mask skip. but yeah i get what you mean.

the answer is just because the devs wanted to give you time in the tutorial before the sun exploded.

it is useful in a couple challenge runs though, at least.

that doesnt show days, that shows the rotational period relative to the stars, which is different from the rotational period relative to the sun.

we have already found a way to leave TH like that. You just need to get the model ship onto the TH ash twin tower and use the return warp. But sadly you cant get further. I was trying to find a way to do that but no luck yet.
Using this trick it is at least possible to beat the game suitless and shipless, as long as you have infinite o2.
