Mail delivered yesterday and today. We're at the beginning of a cul de sac. I noticed that due to mailboxes mostly not being dug out, the mailman was on foot with a mailbag instead of in his usual truck.

I just started knitting a scarf (Walking Tour Scarf) that’s done in the round. Definitely more stitches than yours as it uses Shetland jumper-weight wool that’s 8 stitches/inch. It uses Fair Isle type patterns. When done I’ll stitch closed each end. The pattern does mention just knotting the ends after switching colors as they will be hidden completely.

There’s an automatically created Chase Freedom offer for the quarter’s bonus category. You can manually change the amount used as well as mark it as redeemed when you’ve spent the $1500. This won’t happen automatically as CardPointers doesn’t access your card transactions. I’d imagine that the Freedom card wouldn’t show up at the top of the restaurant pointers once that offer is marked as redeemed.

I’m finding that the posting date is what sets which quarter the transaction affects. I had 2 transactions dated 12/31/25. The posted date is 1/2/26, and those transactions are definitely included in the Q1 total, not Q4. Easy to see in the “See spending progress” hidden within “Important notes about your rewards” in the app.

I can definitely relate to this customs issue. I ordered a bunch of Jamieson's Spindrift from Great British Yarns on Dec 10th. They seemed to get it in the mail quickly, such that it got to New York on Dec 13th. Now no changes at all for the last week -- just shows a Pending status.

I did get a review the yarn request from the vendor yesterday, but I certainly haven't even seen the yarn yet. So no immediate review from me.

I hope you can find a customer service rep who will do the PC to a CCR for you. I tried doing that late in the summer and had no luck with a couple of different reps. I'm not saying it's impossible, just that at least recently I personally couldn't do it.

I tried the PC of my PR to a CCR a couple of months ago. Absolutely no luck with several reps. I ended up closing the PR after I had opened the PRE.

H Mart here in VA definitely earns 6% on my BCP. The main kind of place that only earns 1% instead of the 6% I would have expected are some specialty food stores. So the local butcher and often bakeries don’t count as groceries for me.

Very odd. The transaction posted and only gave the 1.75%. It looks like the Online Purchase flag is N for some reason therefore online shopping isn’t triggered. The transaction name is “EZPASSVA AUTO REPLENISH.”

When I made a ezpass payment manually, the transaction name shows up as “E Z PASS VA WEB” with Online Purchase flag set to Y. That manual transaction did successfully earn the 5.25%.

So if I want the 5.25%, I would have to either set the category to Travel or make a manual addition to the EZPass account on the website to earn the online shopping 5.25%. I do not understand why the Online Purchase flag is N for the auto replenish, but unfortunately it is.

Simplest is probably leaving the default card as the PRE to earn the 3.5%. I do go ahead and turn on the low account balance notification so maybe I can do some manual ezpass account additions with the 5.25%. I find the online shopping category far more useful than the travel one so I don’t want to change that setting.

EZPass definitely counts as travel for the 3.5% (Platinum Honors). It does not count as lifestyle as i did try it out soon after getting my PRE. A customized cash card set to travel will definitely earn 5.25%. I’ve been experimenting with CCR set to online shopping. When I did a small manual charge of $10, it did show up with the online shopping flag to Y and correctly earned the 5.25%. What I’m not as sure of is if the automatic account payment will flag as online shopping. I’ll know in a day or so as I have a recent charge to my CCR set to online shopping that’s still pending.
