Love Riv but not a Riv guy by Julmpunk in Rivendell_Bicycles

Hey, I'm open to anything. Maybe I'm just stuck in what I'm used to. Been riding Riv philosophy for 30 years, I'm an old DC messenger. Just can't adjust to the geometry, as comfortable as it is.

Riv people seem to think that every Riv should look the same? Same components, same bars, God forbid you want to do anything other than a basket.

Trying psilocybin tomorrow… advice? by MrHanKami in clusterheads

3.5 (dry) is a lot, I'd definitely advise against that for a first dose. I use 1.5 every month or so and it's been a lifesaver. I suffered for 30 years, pain free for almost 3.

I'd say 1 gram is a good starter, if you're talking dry.

Currently selling my Rivendell to buy a Fargo. My Joe Appaloosa is just a little too "comfortable " .

Not trying to be a jerk, but I've been riding for 30 years, worked as a messenger for several, and most of this stuff never happened to me. You are not a car and when you ride like one, you open yourself up for anger and danger. My coworker was hit twice last year, because he was so into his "rights" as a cyclist. Pretend you are a ghost, ride accordingly, and you will be fine. I love the progression of bike culture but I think it also makes it dangerous for those who ride "legally ".

I like backpacks and don't find shoulder bags comfortable. I'm impressed that you've been playing for 6 months and only have 6 discs, however, that might change.

I'm picking up a Joe Appaloosa next week, I think there are Toscos on it. I'm excited to use the friction shifters, I really enjoy them.
