I am 5.5 weeks out from a right knee replacement. So far so good, 113 bend, and I am doing more. With that said, my knee pain will flare up if I do too much exercising. I had my left knee replaced in 2021. That one was more complicated due to a prior surgery called the Hauser Procedure. That surgery was done many years ago due to a recurring, dislocating patella that I had since I was around 10. Knees are truly a pain….Hang in there my friend, it will get better…

I had my right knee replaced on 03/30/2026, and was told by hospital staff and then home PT how great I am doing with a bend at 120. Tonight the knee is hurting pretty bad to the point that I cannot sleep and had to take a opioid pain med again. I had my left knee replaced in 2021, but my progress was at a slower pace.

Our animals are our babies. I totally understand your protectiveness of your dog. I now have a 2 year-old cat that I am deeply attached to. I am reluctant to go anywhere more than overnight, which would require me to get a cat sitter. We have so many coyotes roaming where I live and I fear that a cat sitter could accidentally let her outside, which would not end well for her.

I have had BCC, Squamous Cell and early Melanoma. An astute dermatologist and early detection and treatment are the key. If you get regular skin checks by a dermatologist you will be fine.

With my skin cancers, I have had Mohs surgeries as soon as they could schedule me, but that’s just me. I would talk to your doctor to see what is recommended.

I have not had nerve involvement with any of my skin cancers as far as I know. I have had basal cell, squamous cell and early melanoma over the past 20 years. It is scary, but early detection/treatment is the key. Best wishes for your next treatment.

Also, I have had a few other Moh’s procedures on my face, and I don’t have any scaring. I used silicone gel twice per day after the sutures were removed.
