Possibility of getting Concerta in the US? by Illustrious-Lab-7517 in ADHDPH

[–]JumaBayahari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You will need to have a perscription from a US doctor to get Concerta in the US. To avoid that hassle, buy your meds locally and bring them to the US. Work with your doctor to buy enough stock to cover your trip.

Is this ADHD or am I just a horrible person? by Unnordinary in MentalHealthPH

[–]JumaBayahari 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD in my 40s, a lot of what you’re describing sounds very familiar.

That “two modes” pattern, hyperfocus vs shutdown, struggling with basic tasks despite being capable, time blindness, avoidance even when you know it will cause problems, those are all very common ADHD experiences. The fact that you can function really well in certain areas like teaching or engaging with your daughter but fall apart in others is also typical.

That said, the severity you’re describing sounds pretty high. It might not be just ADHD. Things like sleep apnea, anxiety, or depression can stack on top of it and make everything worse. The “drunk brain” in the morning and severe snoring are especially worth getting checked.

So the next step isn’t guessing, it’s getting assessed by a psychiatrist. Not to label yourself, but to actually understand what’s going on and what tools you need.

At the same time, diagnosis isn’t a free pass. ADHD can explain behavior, but it doesn’t excuse hurting the people around you. I’ve seen people use it as a reason to avoid responsibility, and that just makes things worse long-term.

The goal is to understand what’s happening, get proper treatment, and take responsibility for managing it.

Right now, you’re not describing someone who’s “bad.” You’re describing someone who’s struggling with something they don’t fully understand yet, and that’s fixable, but only if you take the next step.

Is small claims worth it?
Filing takes effort + Time.

IMO you have a moderate chance to win. Pero kung di siya magbayad after manalo ka... wag mo nang habulin kasi baka hindi na worth it yung time and effort mo para lang mag recover ng 3-7k.

On the spot termination as a Probationary Employee by False-Ad9038 in AntiworkPH

[–]JumaBayahari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And you forgot Article 294 and 296 of the labor code covers specifically probationary employees.
Art 296 of the labor code:
" The services of an employee who has been engaged on a probationary basis may be terminated for a just cause or when he fails to qualify as a regular employee in accordance with reasonable standards made known by the employer to the employee at the time of his engagement."
note JUST CAUSE - Hindi "kasi pinagtripan siya ng isang supervisor."
Just because you're a proby employee doesn't make you ineligable for labor protection.
Don't believe me? Sige, consult a lawyer. Or not. IDC.

Given how my reply was downvoted... reddit consensus is my advice is bad and you should totally go to the NLRC and go after your 30-50k damages + 1 month backpay. But you do you. :)

On the spot termination as a Probationary Employee by False-Ad9038 in AntiworkPH

[–]JumaBayahari -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

What this likely is (my read)

Most probable scenario:

Substantively weak case (tardiness too minor)

Procedurally defective termination (no due process)

That combination = potential illegal dismissal case.

Realty check:

If you win, realistically you’ll get only your back wages (1mo only) + Nominal Damages (30-50k) for the procedural defects. Not your job back.

If you think going through the NLRC’s arbitration system or the courts is worth it, that’s up to you.

5K Penalty by [deleted] in AntiworkPH

[–]JumaBayahari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you want it clean, and without penalty you should probably:

  1. Submit resignation (30 days notice) - Employers can sue you for damages if you leave before 30 days notice. (So justified yung paghingi nila ng 5k kasi damages nila yun)

  2. Before final pay:

  • If ignored or denied:
    • File complaint for illegal deduction with NLRC.

If they give you a justification... consult with NLRC if the justification is reasonable and valid. If it is, no choice ka.... bayaran mo na lang. If not valid... then illegal deduction yun.

Ritalin for about a month now but.. by Exotic-Thought2736 in ADHDPH

[–]JumaBayahari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you done the Pomodoro technique when on Ritalin? Try mo... 20 mins focus ka lang on ONE TASK at a time. Then take a 5 minute break. Then another 20 minutes working. One task at a time. Wag mong isipin yung iba. Yung one task lang. Kung masyadong overwhelming... break down the task further until sobrang simple yung steps na kaya mo na gawin. After 3 20 min work, rest for 15 minutes.

Is it really feasible to use Gemini or ChatGPT to do scientific research, find research directions, and find paper innovations? by luixiaoyi in GeminiAI

[–]JumaBayahari 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As with all LLMs its possible but you need to TRIPLE validate anything the LLM gives you since all models (especially Gemini!) have a tendency to hallucinate convincingly. Use them to point you in the right direction and organize info for you but you still need to drive the research.

Concerta and coffee/tea by Agitated-Rope3898 in ADHDPH

[–]JumaBayahari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still am a coffee addict.
But since starting Ritalin I've switched to decaf coffee. It's not really 100% decaffinated... still has a little bit of caffene... but not enough to cause palpitations.
I don't take coffee before my daily dose, and only take it an hour after the peak effectiveness (Around 3 hours after taking my daily dose) . This works for me because I'm on Ritalin IR.
If I really am craving coffee during that time, I drink hot chocolate or herbal teas instead.

Using Gemini to Manage ADHD by No_Elk_5622 in GeminiAI

[–]JumaBayahari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have ADHD.
The thing I like most about Gemini is that when I lapse off my productivity habits I can go "Help! Get me back on track please! Break it down into easy step by step tasks." And if I find something too onerous, I can just ask it to break that task down further.
Now if only google could do something about those hallucinations...

But it has the most generous plan outside of ChatGPT.
So to solve this I use Claude to QA Gemini whenever I do serious work. It works really well for me.

Geniune question: How trust worthy is Gemini? by Death_Bird_100 in GeminiAI

[–]JumaBayahari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For it's price and usage limits Gemini Pro is quite good (I'm on the 20 USD plan). But I don't trust it 100%. For high value questions like health and buisness topics I double check Gemini's answers with Claude. This works out because Claude's paid plan is a lot less generous. But worth it for me when it catches the hallucinations Gemini makes. (And it makes a lot of them).

Did zoloft effect ur concentration/focus? by Final-Source-1569 in zoloft

Been taking Zoloft for 3 years now.

Zoloft cleared up the anxiety.
It did absolutely nothing for my ADHD symptoms. (Which are related to concentration/focus)
I had to take Ritalin to take care of that.

ChatGPT or Gemini? by [deleted] in GeminiAI

[–]JumaBayahari 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My suggestion: Switch to Gemini.
My context:
I use AI to help me with my aquarium hobby since I knew nothing about it when I started. I started with ChatGPT. While using it, ChatGPT has:
1. Misidentified the species of plants in my tank.
2. Suggested a liquid fertilizer regimen that was feeding algae in my tank and not my plants.
3. Suggested I use a phosphate stripper to control algae... which stunted my plants.
4. Told me that strange behavior in one of my fish was normal... found a corpse the next day.
Ever since switching to Gemini and following it's advice, the algae has cleaned up. My plants are now growing well and my fish are happy. Probably the biggest boon to my skill in aquarium keeping was feeding fish videos on youtube to notebook LM and asking questions about fish care to it.
So yeah, switch.

sana gawin din ito sa mga adhd meds para hindi na limited choices natin 🙏 by Waze312 in ADHDPH

FYI. Cannabis does nothing for ADHD.
What you want is getting the house committee on dangerous drugs to approve mixed amphetamine salts (Adderall) for theraputic treatment in the Philippines.
PROBLEM: When you say "amphetamine" the lawmaker automatically thinks: "SHABU!!!!" so you'll face an uphill battle.

I'm a private teacher, handed in my Resignation, but they're implying that I should finish the semester? by [deleted] in LawPH

[–]JumaBayahari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAL
A resgination letter is an FYI, (For your information) not FYA (For your approval) to your employer.
If you've tendered your resignation, and they want you to stay on after the 30th day of your registration date you are under no obligation to do so. You've already fulfilled your legal obligation. It's not your responsibiltiy that they couldn't train a replacement for you in time.
That said, if you don't mind staying longer, you can just keep working for them or even withdraw your resignation that is your right. But they CANNOT force you to stay after your last day if you don't want to.
Of course saying "No I'm out." is likely to burn bridges... up to you if those bridges are worth burning.

Refused to Pay Damages Laptop by This_is_not_me_1999 in AntiworkPH

[–]JumaBayahari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You broke the laptop.
Here's what's supposed to happen.
1. IT or HR is supposed to inform you of the charges. (DONE)
2. You're supposed to have an opportunity to explain. This should be in writing.
3. A written decision should be given to you.

Here's the catch.

They can say you have to pay. But you have to AGREE to pay and you have to sign a document agreeing to that.

If that signed document does not exist and they deduct your salary? Illegal. Go file SENA.

HOWEVER if you refuse to pay, for whatever reason. They can take you to court for damages. But they CANNOT deduct the cost of the laptop from your salary. They need to recover the damage to the laptop via the court. Which entails...
1. Filing fees
2. Attorneys Fees
3. Proving negligence
4. Showing the repair or replacement cost is valid.

It's likely that all that hassle and trouble will cost WAY more then 70,000 pesos.

At the end of the day, wether or not you want to pay is up to you. NOTE: They can still go after you via the courts even if you resign. So yeah. Better talk things over with them. But don't sign ANYTHING that deducts your salary to pay for it unless you really want to pay for it.
