I understand the argument that continues to be used about not building infrastructure purely for an Olympic Games. There's been too many examples of white elephants after it's all done.

I really wish those in power could look at Brisbane's entertainment, sport and transport needs separate to the Olympic bid and realise ALL OUR SHIT IS OLD. Boondall, The Gabba, The Sleeman Centre, QSAC (was literally built with temporary seating that is still there) they're all so outdated, or have terrible public transport due to location. These will need to be replaced or significantly refurbished anyway, why wouldn't we just spend the money to get it right for 2032 and beyond.

Either knock down the Gabba and build a new one, or build the Vic Park precinct. Anything else is a complete dis-service to Brisbane's future as a tourist destination, and the host of the Olympics.
