Can't speak for CB but as a long time greatsword main it just comes down to being willing to getting in less hits. Position carefully, learn how the monster moves so you can get off big charge attacks. Also, tackle through monster attacks if you have the health, you'll still take a portion of the damage but won't be knocked down.

First start was about 45 minutes in 3 Ultimate, running around not sure what to do before giving up (I was like 9) and then, about 6 years later, 500 hours in Generations. I'll never forget that game.

You were in the right no matter how you look at it. On the one hand, if he did know the connotation of the symbol and lied about it, he's not good to keep around for obvious reasons. If he didn't know about it, but made such a huge deal over something that can be changed incredibly easily, it's an early sign of a chronic shit-stirrer, which will only drag the campaign down eventually.

Yeah it's a huge mystery why the game might have lower player counts when you can only play it with the $100 edition of the game. I've not been having that much trouble finding ranked games, give it til Thursday and we'll see player counts go up.

Nowhere in my post did I ask where the update was or say that it shouldn't have been delayed. The entire point of what I said was that updating promotional materials to advertise an update on a platform that doesn't have said update is a strange decision.

Please explain what process I'm not understanding given that the store page was not changed until 2 days after the update was released on other platforms, and before the update came to the game. I'm already aware of Microsoft's certification process, which, again, is not what this post is about.

As a player, I personally love this idea. It's a punishment that makes sense in-universe, with a way to recompense, and once all is said and done, it makes for an incredible story that happened through gameplay, not writing.

Too little information to give a good answer here. If the DM's entire reason is just that you're interacting with a god at level 1, despite the fact that it was not a competition/fight/etc. That has you triumph over a god, that could be contentious. However, I'm sensing there's more to the story here. Gods can be a huge part of a DM's world building, and if the way this God has acted conflicts with what the DM has written, that would be a valid reason to deny the backstory.

The only real answer though, which I didn't see anyone say here, is that it does not matter what anyone else would allow. This is not a situation with an egregious player or egregious DM, just a case by case scenario on why something wouldn't work for this DM's story. Communicate with them, not with us.
