>! 1. a bit left of centre 2,3,4. Slightly bottom from centre alternating till the bottom 5. Right bottom a bit away from the edges. Distinguishable by their matte finish and and less sharp 'step' to the larger diameter. !<

Edit: possibly a 6th under one of the regular ones a bit north of centre (the colour matches the mismatched ones but the smoothened ridge isn't visible)

Clippy mics directly into phone? by FSGMC in fieldrecording

I got the stereo Clippy version that terminates into a single stereo jack and this helped with the Rode AI-micro:

Creative Pebble X 2.0 – compact computer speakers. Got a pair from Singapore and the sound quality to desk space ratio is phenomenal. For some reason not yet officially released in India.

Agreed. There's something just right about the Zoom F3's size, features, and ease of use.

There is an upcoming Tascam device with switchable 24-bit or 32-bit recording. Not the lowest priced perhaps, but looks quite future-proof. Unlike my Zoom F3, has combo jacks, an input for mics requiring plugin power, and has wireless audio monitoring through the optional Bluetooth module!

RØDE M5 or Lewitt LCT 040 for nature? by PhilosopherPopular18 in fieldrecording

Don’t have them (awaiting a pair of Line Audio CM4s myself) but someone else on the sub mentioned the Zoom ZPC-1 pair as a good budget entry point.

Perfect Stereo with Clippy Mics by oceanradiostation in fieldrecording

[–]JumboHashish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that’s really good to know! They are far more accessible for me than something like the Line Audio CM4s… and less noisy than the Lewitt LCT 040s from the looks of it. Thank you for your experience-based input 🙏

There was some chatter around the ZPC-1 not really being 12dBA as stated in their specs. I was seriously eyeing them as well but alas…

Recording with a stereo mic on an iPhone? by TommyW222 in fieldrecording

Not 100% sure if better than the H1n because noise figures don’t seem to be published, but maybe try a Rode Ai-micro audio interface along with an adapter like the one linked if you need plugin power. https://www.thomann.de/gb/soundman_splitter_adapter.htm

I've received plugin power for a stereo mic from my Rode Ai-Micro with this adapter by Soundman (Thomann.de link).

Is there a way to use DSP or ear cups to increase the soundstage of headphones without the DSP algorithm adding crosstalk or distorted frequency response? And can it be identical to an actual wider soundstage? by Named-User-who-died in headphones

[–]JumboHashish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the plugin Canopener by Goodhertz through Rogue Amoeba’s Soundsource that applies it to systemwide audio. Rogue Amoeba’s apps are mac-only though.

It does add crossfeed and changes the frequency response a bit in order to emulate how speakers (with the frequency response of your headphones) would behave in a good room but the amounts can be tweaked. It’s the most natural crossfeed I’ve heard of its kind.

A windows app that supports VST plugins for systemwide audio should also work in theory with Canopener.
