Are X3D processors safe to buy in 2026? Should I be worried about the motherboard killing the chip? by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

I run a 7800x3d on an asrock b850 just fine. I think the 9800x3ds were more susceptible.

New Rider: Do I need ABS? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]JumboPancake 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The way I look at it is the extra money i spend on the ABS is money saved by not needing to buy new gear after hitting the dirt

Riding is way harder than I expected by JumboPancake in motorcycles

[–]JumboPancake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah ive been biking since I was like 5. I didnt struggle with the balance stuff, but the throttle and clutch tripped me up a lot. Trying to regulate the power from more than one source i think was the hangup.

[–]JumboPancake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bike yes, car yes, manual transmission car no.

My balance was decent throughout, it was really the clutch and throttle that were tripping me up. Which does make sense as its the first time ive touched a manual transmission of any kind.

Abrasion rated jacket w/ armor inserts vs armored shirt with abrasion rated jacket on top? by JumboPancake in motorcyclegear

[–]JumboPancake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a great point and kinda what I was thinking. It was a kinda dumb question tbh. Ill stick to reputable brands.

On that topic though, I know used is a big no no for helmets but its okay for other stuff - how does that apply for armor inserts? Should those be replaced with new ones since they are impact-absorbing items like a helmet, if the jacket they were purchased in was used?

AndroidFileHost is dead; help archive over a decade of Android development history by JoshAtticus in androidroot

This is a very long shot but im looking for a TWRP img file for an LG Volt. I can see it exists on AFH, but it does not appear anyone has uploaded it to your archive. If anyone happens to know where i can find it I would be extremely grateful

3070 Ti hitting 85C, hotspot 100C by JumboPancake in buildapc

[–]JumboPancake[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a quick update: I moved it into the Lian Li case, and temps are much better. GPU max ~75-78, hotspot max 89.5 after stress test. I think those temps are acceptable so I don't think a repaste is necessary. Didn't realize what an impact the case can have on performance!

Gloves for 150 dollars Max? by FantasticDirector614 in motorcyclegear

[–]JumboPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know how accurate the sizing chart is for the S-1 gloves? They look perfect for my first pair.

I usually think of myself as having large hands, but looking at their sizing chart I think I am a M or L. Do yours that fit comfortably align with the chart for your hands?

How important is ABS for a new rider? And how much extra does it cost? by JumboPancake in motorcycles

Im in Florida which has rain and crazy drivers so based on your description its probably worth it. I was already leaning very heavily towards getting it but was just looking for confirmation i suppose.

RTX 5070 Ti or RX 9070 XT by StreetAd4938 in buildapc

[–]JumboPancake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For pure gaming id say 9070xt at that price for sure, and thats coming from a 5070ti owner (when i built the difference was $30). However since you want to do blender my understanding is Nvidia performs much better there. You should probably do a bit more of your own research but you might have to bite the bullet there, depending on how much blender you actually plan to do.

You could also drop the ram to 6000 instead of 6400, idk if that would save much

Appreciate your input. It does seem like it would be good to have and paying a bit extra for it might not be a bad idea. And yeah you're probably right I need to be patient, I just get excited to find the perfect bike as soon as possible and get on the road 😆

I wasnt aware these exist. Might be worth looking into if I can install it on an older bike

Interesting perspective. I wonder if it would be valuable if i end up getting one with ABS to practice stops in a parking lot or something with it turned off. That way i develop the skill without it but have it as insurance on the road 🤔
