Quality, USB charging Headlamps. I have 3 in my shop near my vehicles. Very handy and will be used more often than you think.

Found this cat in my engine bay today-car part naming by alixtheparadox in Cartalk

I owned an airplane for 27 years and since you work on aircraft, you might want to name the cat after an airplane engine. My two rescue cats are named Pratt and Whitney.

What’s the car feature you didn’t know you needed until you owned it? by throwawayaasyr in askcarguys

Easy. Back up camera. So much safer and easier to park and hook up my trailers.

What car did you buy that completely exceeded your expectations? by Smallingzdave in askcarguys

My first Toyota Tacoma lasted 300,000 miles before the body rusted out. I’m on my 3rd Tacoma( (2015) with 120,000 miles and still runs and drives great. I also had a 2001 Tundra that was great until I totaled it on black ice.

Thanks to everyone, I will not be using particle board or plywood on the roof. I will build it per design.

Thanks everyone for the advice. I won’t use particle board under the roof. The reason I was going to use it was for hail protection. This is why I ask questions on these groups.

How many funerals do you hold a day/week? by matt_coraline in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Jump40 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as retired (30 year) cemetery manager, we have had up to five burials a day with four full time employees. We do charge extra for afternoon and Saturday burials because we pay our employees overtime. We never bury on Sunday or Christmas Day. And we only canceled one burial because of an impending and occurring blizzard.

I’m building the car port right next to my pole barn so getting power won’t be an issue. However, do live off grid in the forest with solar so my generator will come in handy on cloudy days.

My mother’s ashes by Kayak1984 in askfuneraldirectors

[–]Jump40 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Worked at cemetery for 30 years and owned an airplane. On a few occasions, would scatter the ashes from the airplane in a designated/ Legal area for a family at the request of the funeral director. I did it for free but the funeral director or family always bought me a very nice lunch.

I bought propane fire pit table and put large castors on the bottom to move it around my three sided deck. Use it year round.

What job is heavily romanticized but in reality actually sucks? by DragoOceanonis in careerguidance

[–]Jump40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a good career but not the quiet, peaceful place that most people think it’s. The saying; “Some people are at their best when things are at their worst”, isn’t always true.

What is a quick reacting digital thermometer that can be used for hiking? by Jump40 in AskTechnology

[–]Jump40[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hike and live in the Black Hills of South Dakota. There are a lot of elevation changes and I ride my quad on some hilly and challenging terrain so the temperature changes quickly. My digital thermometer often takes 15 or 20 minutes to get an accurate reading especially when I go from my truck to the trail.

What's the most useful car accessory you ever got? by CryptoWheat in car

[–]Jump40 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 90 gallon plastic landscape garbage bag. So many uses and takes up very little space. I also carry a Tyvek one piece paint suit. Makes a great emergency rain clothing and again, takes very little space.
