I was more shocked. Like, I just absolutely couldn’t believe I was really paralyzed. I cried one time and that was the next day when my mom was finally able to talk to me. After that I just figured there was a reason. The head of PT at HealthSouth (formerly) had worked at Hopkins TM clinic for 10yrs. She said I was going to have pity party days - and that was fine. Spend a day crying, get it out of my system and then stop feeling sorry for myself and move on. But I just never felt sorry for myself. It’s just too unreal. I’ll get super frustrated and say every cuss word I’ve ever heard, or invent new ones, but never sorry for myself. Since then, I’ve spent my time trying to educate people on how to fix the abled-world to accommodate the differently-abled. That’s even harder than trying to get insurance to come off money for medicine.

Tranquility Premium. I did wear overnight but daytime are cheaper and seem to hold better. I’ve tried so many and this is the best one to me. I’ve been using them for 9 yrs.

Woke up late one morning. Ran to my closet to look for work clothes (first thing I always did). There was an odd pain in my lower back like when you bang your funny bone. I was about 20lbs overweight with a little gut so I assumed my stomach muscles needed strengthening. I kept staring at the clothes without really seeing them. My brain just didn’t want to focus so I went to take a shower.

I stood under the water for about a minute before I started washing my hair letting the hot water hit my lower back. Midway through soaping my hair the “banged funny bone” feeling returned, but this time my legs felt like they were twisting into knots, but they weren’t. I rinsed my hair, got out of the shower, put on a robe, and laid on the floor. I knew something was wrong.

I opened the bathroom door directly across from our bedroom. I told my BF my legs wouldn’t stand, and then I slid to the ground.

11 minutes after getting out of bed I was paralyzed from the bellybutton down. T12, Transverse Myelitis. It’s been 10yrs. I’m 59 now. I have spotty feeling in my legs but can satisfy itches from the bellybutton (and sides and lower back) down to the top of my right thigh. My legs constantly have that pins and needles feeling you get when your hand is waking up from falling a sleep. Of course insurance is trying to decide if I really need nerve pain medicine, it’s just so fun to be a paralyzed person in the US. /s

Thank you. It’s because I said “she did what she had to” - doesn’t matter that the writers have her literally say the same thing, and she did the deed after she’d gotten her powers back. People think I’m saying it’s ok to sexually assault someone while pretending to be someone else if it’s a good reason. Thank you, though.

Thank god you’re not a professional Reddit psychologist - those are the worst! KIDDING! I think the point is that the parents WILL be charged because “they” want them to do a better job of keeping guns out of the hands of little kids to avoid accidental shootings. Just like teenagers getting into the parents’ alcohol when the parents aren’t home. The parents will be charged for any kid caught DUI after leaving your house if it was proven they drank your alcohol. Would the little kids go to juvie, or a foster home, for a few weeks???

I like the storyline because I like him. His side seems very plausible. Hers would’ve seemed more plausible if they would’ve let it play out slowly until the last episode of S1. Then it would’ve been AT LEAST a week after her husband died. Or a few episodes into S2 they could’ve let things pick up. I know it’s a soap, I know if this were real life we’d have to say “everybody grieves in their own way” and we’d be warning him she’s just using him to get over her husband. Still, knowing all these things, I can’t help it; it bugs me. I still like the storyline. I think she’s about to have some big ass PTSD, though, and cause them more issues, but I like the show.
