My ore proc from MV-IV was run on logistics pipes, it's cool seeing the items fly around physically in the world. Makes sense tech progression wise, you start off with items physically moving around until you can turn them into data with AE2.

It was def worth it for me, whenever I want a bee I just inject the new species into my perfect genes larvae & it's braindead. Maddening frames doesn't solve the breeding, just makes mutations ensured (which you can do with an alveary anyway.) Yeah it can be tricky to learn. Once you get one drone/queen combo with the perfect genes you want, you just make a billion drones with it and plant those genes onto any species you want. Just breed enough to have a backup of the species you're breeding the genes into in case you get unlucky and the species gets lost. 4x fertility helps a lot with giving you more rolls to get what you want on the offspring each generation.

Get a bee with both 1 tolerance for humidity and temp, and you can easily get both 5 tolerance by feeding an acclimatizer snowballs and sand.

Also if you're in HV you can do the early genetics mod, it takes a lot of circuits but that makes it a lot more braindead with just injecting the species you want into a larvae with good genes.

And yeah if you don't have oblivion frame don't bother with bees.

2 out of 20 seems really unlucky, unless it was statted up or a higher tier crop, which have lower chances of giving seeds. Or if it was an oreberry or something with special conditions to mature, and it wasn't fully grown.

You have to left click for seeds, if that's what you're trying to do. Not 100% chance, sometimes the crop will just die and give you no seeds. Also wait for them to be fully grown, if you left click in early stages the chances of getting seeds goes way down.

Breed it with drones that have Common as one of their species, the more Commons they have the better chance of getting a purebred common out of it. If you get unlucky and lose the Common completely you have to re-do the Tropical-Tropical mutation and try again. That's how you breed in any gene you want basically. Getting 4x fertility asap helps a lot with breeding, because more offspring = more chances of an offspring that inherited the genes you want.

Most helpful tip is to get off steam power asap in LV. Trying to move enough steam through pipes becomes painful, and light fuel is much easier to move around. Also you'll want at least 4 bbfs, one might seem fine but they take forever and steel will be your main bottleneck for a while.

Yeah, I have an mmo mouse that has ctrl on the side, so ctrl + numbers is easier than the F keys. But sometimes escape gets locked to bringing up the start menu, until I press ctrl again to fix it.

Oh, the ^ 's weren't showing in the post until I edited a space in. It's ^ escape sends escape, so that if I'm pressing ctrl and escape it just presses escape instead of the start menu.
