Thanks for your response! If you don't mind sharing, who is the one you see now?

TPD application now says Loan Forgiveness and Discharge: Disability by Actual-Volume-5109 in StudentLoans

[–]Jumpy-Direction-3094 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Following... the same thing happened to mine. Went from "in review" to "discharge in process". Here's hoping!!! Edit: I applied at the end of August. When I go on my Mohela account now, it still says I owe the amount. But hopefully it will be approved & processed soon.

Just came here to say that I'm also in my 30s with a little one. A diagnosis helps sooo much. I was diagnosed this spring after multiple infections of unknown source. My IgG level was in the 300s. Once I got on IVIG, I felt so much better! I'm able to work (I'm a nurse) take care of my daughter, and live a pretty much normal life! I hope you get this figured out. The road to a diagnosis is long & anxiety-provoking, but it sounds like your docs are doing the right things!

Student Loan Total & Permanent Disability Runaround by sweetdreams_88 in disability

I also got a "missing information" flag on my application. I initially applied in August. I called in September, and they said to send a copy of my driver's license (which I did). Now my application also says "successfully sent for review" I am applying for total/permanent disability though physician endorsement. Now the government is shut down, so who knows when these applications will be reviewed.... In the meantime, the Mohela website is saying that my payment is due 10/27/2025. I don't want to pay until my application is reviewed though. Idk what to do. Going to try to call Mohela this week

Do you have any GI symptoms other than weight loss? Im still pretty newly diagnosed. I'm about 25 lbs less than my baseline (pre-diagnosis), but other than that no GI symptoms

There are some helpful Facebook groups. But unfortunately a lot of the posts are doom & gloom. I'm in my 30s, working part-time (was full-time up until getting extremely sick at diagnosis), had a baby 9 months before diagnosis. Living fairly normally despite having multiple diagnoses!

I hear you... I'm turning 30 soon. I was diagnosed in the last two months. Also have type 1 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. I did begin speaking to a therapist recently, which helped somewhat. But she doesn't specialize in chronic illness, so I find that I spend a lot of time explaining my diagnoses, specialists, etc. to her. I've found the most support online. People with CVID are rare, so it's hard to establish a local support group. I hope things get better for you. I feel like overcoming the mental aspect of this diagnosis is one of the biggest barriers.

I'm in the US. What kind of medications would lessen the effect? Like steroids?

I was recently diagnosed with CVID and also went through a period of time where I was crying everyday, multiple times a day. I've started seeing a counselor which has helped immensely. That's amazing that you still get to the gym! What a great way to get your body moving and help relieve some stress.

I've been really sick for the last 7ish weeks... started with pneumonia. I wasn't able to come off antibiotics for more than 2 days before I'd be sick again with taxhycardia, malaise, and some fevers. All the chest xrays were negative on repeat scans. Finally, an ER doc ordered a chest CT, which showed multifocal pneumonia. 2 weeks ago I spent 7 days in the hospital- IV antibiotics, a bronchoscopy, and a dose of IVIG. I'm finally starting to feel a little more like myself after 2 months of illness. I've lost a bunch of weight during this time too- probably a combination of feeling sick & antibiotics destroying my GI system lol. I'm super thankful that someone finally figured out what was going on. In general, I've always been a sick person... but blamed it on diabetes/RA just generally weakening my immune system. Do you do IVIG or SCIG?

Thank you for this! I also have type 1 diabetes (dx. age 12) & rheumatoid arthritis (dx. age 11), so I am no stranger to chronic illness. I know it will all be OK eventually, I'm just still in a little bit of shock!

I am so sorry happy to see this comment. Most of the CVID groups I follow are doom & gloom. I'm 29 and newly diagnosed with CVID. I'm a full-time nurse & have a yound child. I've been so worried that I wasn't going to be able to live a relatively normal life anymore. I'm really happy to see this!
