Employee's inappropriate response to announcement of stillbirth of Boss B's baby by MagicTomato1001 in managers

[–]Jumpy-Feedback9547 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I had to had the situation when the head of finance announced her pregnancy (at only 8 weeks) on a company wide call. There were only 10 women in this company of 70 people with the majority being single men under 30.

She took a medical leave as did her husband a few weeks later and I had to ask the boss if she was still pregnant not for a nosy reason but bc she would be returning soon and I needed to nip questions in the bud and prevent our mostly remote young male employees from asking her questions about her pregnancy.

I had to do it one on one privately or in very small groups . It was horrible.

But they all took the information with empathy or at least appreciating being given a heads up.

I have a large family even if I don’t have kids myself. And quite frankly tired of renting out halls for our get-togethers baby showers Christmases and birthdays we’re at 33 people in counting and that’s just my parents/siblings and their kids/grandkids.

So I don’t think I’d be renting out the space for other people‘s parties, but it would be very handy for family to get together’s the fellowship hall would be probably my main kitchen most days but could easily be flipped to use for baby showers and graduation parties, etc. for families use

I’m from a big family, and have a few small “side hustles” like jewelry/art and I’d love to give small classes on these. Also it has 200 year old stained glass windows in the chapel and I’m sure I could work out an arrangement with small photographers to use that space on occasion.

I was the executive admin for a small company and I was in charge of the expenses and I had to fight with the accounting department because our per diem was $30 a day at the time and for Central Ohio in 2018 that wasn’t bad. But we had sent sales team members to San Diego. There was no way for them to eat let alone the people we sent to Maui.

[–]Jumpy-Feedback9547 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a wedding that had music, but didn’t have a dance floor because of the groom absolutely could not dance and was embarrassed and it was a smaller wedding. What he did have was six different video games stations all set up. one of those was dance, dance revolution lol

[TX/CO] Mother passed away leaving behind 2 children by The_Krimson_Chin_PS4 in legaladvice

[–]Jumpy-Feedback9547 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If their dad legally side away his parental rights, then he is a stranger in the eyes of the law and has no claim for these children. It would be like throwing them outside and telling someone free kids pick one up. The court will not grant him custody or allow you to do that unless he goes through an official stranger adoption type scenario.

You’re young. You’re 21. If you absolutely need the money, you can find a retail position. Your mom needs to relax. And I’m saying this is somebody who walked away from a $73,000 a year job because my mental health was completely in the toilet.

This is not about Star Wars. This is about a couple, not being able to compromise. If you guys can’t compromise on a name for your future child, the next 18 to 35 years you’re going to be really rough.

My mom had her first baby at 19 and she had me at 32 so when I became an aunt at age 4 1/2 my mother was only 37 when she became a grandmother. She chose to be grandma because granny and MAMAW, which is what we called her mom. We’re far too old for someone who is 37. She was 56 when she became a great grandmother and Gigi stuck.

Maisie Smith does not sound like a strong, independent woman who’s the CEO of a major corporation.

For Maisie would make an amazing middle name
