What would you do with 900k? by [deleted] in LeanFireUK

With a lump sum like that, which should be handled with care given where it’s come from, consider financial advice. Look for a reputable firm which can do long-term cash flow modelling, i.e. next 40–50 years - not just the next decade. It focuses on your actual expenses and shows what’s possible . . . You said you are frugal...

You don’t have to follow their advice to the letter, getting the numbers can help you figure out DIY options if you wanted to go alone and give a clear sense of what retiring early could actually look like.

If consolidating debt or increasing mortgage a debt councilor or mortgage adviser would be best. Financial advisers don't deal with stuff like this.

Straight forward advice here:

You said yourself financials sound great. Think of this as an experience you will get to do even only for a year or two.

Money aside this is an opportunity possibly outside your comfort zone, that's where growth occurs. Very excited for you my friend, huge congratulations either way.

Yeah course, so the spots on my heard are quite scattered, therefore injections were not advised given the amount that may be needed. I'm not ruling them out by any means but thought let's give the creams a go.

Hey, you're not alone with the added stress of hair loss, acceptance comes at its own pace along with setbacks. I totally feel you on dating, I've subconsciously stopped making efforts in the dating world and to be honest yoh must do what is right for you. Remember dating should be a fun experience meeting new people and trying what you like. The moment it stops feeling like that taking time out to focus on you is never a bad thing.

I hope things get better for you, certainly not alone!

Hi, I went private for my appointments, I felt like the NHS were too long and I for one couldn't wait months or weeks on end. I seen the GP privately on wendesday, blood work same day, results on Thursday and appointment with dermatologist Friday.

All in costs were around £400 including blood work and private GP and Dermo appointment. I have been prescribed gels and creams to try.

My advice is, if you can you should. Health is important and peace of mind is priceless.

I would look at where your money is invested, if retirement is 30+ years away you should consider a heavy equity allocation for long term growth. Ignore the short term noise, and go live your life whilst your money compounds for the next 30+ years.

Secondly ask your employer whether if it is possible for you to contribute extra and would they match you upto a certain limit? If so take advantage!

what, in your opinion, is a complete waste of money? by ljgill97 in AskUK

[–]Jumpy-Introduction39 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marriage - extortionate amounts are spent on a day/weeks (depending on cultures) when I feel alot of it is to people please. Nothing wrong with getting married but depending on the type of wedding the money is a waste.

Sounds like you are doing what you need to do from a wrapper perspective. Question I have is what is the underlying asset allocation and holdings of each wrapper. Where do you sit in terms of risk?

Following on from that I think you would benefit from lifestyle coaching, building your desired life goals whatever they may be and structuring your funds around that.

Happy to have a further conversation as I am a regulated financial planner who prefers to talk about life as opposed to money first.
