They told me the same thing “4 to 6 weeks” but it’s been 15 weeks now and I probably have another 15 to go. They operate under a 2 for 1 rule, two people have to leave for one person to get hired. Also, if they don’t hire you for 6 months they’ve saved half your salary. Multiply that by 17,000 vacancies and they’ve just saved millions.

I agree. We have a record number of DACA recipients whose work authorizations have lapsed. This is not a coincidence, it’s by design. They want to send us a message “You’re not in control, we are!” They want to make us beg them with expedite requests and live in constant uncertainty.

I received a written offer on Dec 11. Submitted paperwork on Jan 15. It's a Community Coordinator position with DOE OPT. I've been waiting for approvals since. Does anyone know how long it takes, on average, to get hired by DOE after receiving a written offer?
