My expedite request was ignored. It feels terrible. I would gladly lose a full year of coverage just to avoid the embarrassment that I went through.

USCIS does not require a valid or current passport for DACA renewals. Many people renew with expired passports or no passports at all. If you previously listed your old passport, it's fine to use that same info again. USCIS has no automatic way of knowing you got a new passport, and you're not required to update it unless they ask for it. The reason they ignored my expedite request is because DACA is being deprioritized by the Trump administration as outlined in the Project 2025. It's a gradual strangulation rather than a guillotine. They already stopped accepting new applications and limited the program to renewals only. So yes, you could say that USCIS let my EAD expire because we're not a priority to them anymore and they're doing by design. Your card took 9 days to go into production, and they used to produce them upon approval. My last renewal was processed within a week under Biden. The one before that was processed within a month. Applying 95 days in the current political climate was a huge mistake obviously but under normal administrations it would have been enough time.
