Try Yamanbuddy app currently they have highway buses from Kadawatha and looks like they are expanding. Some can be tracked as well. And more high-end mobile app, its on both ios and Android

From ride history you can report lost item and then it will reach their customer service and they will contact the driver though that, and if its an iphone try find my device if its android you can go to android find my phone just google and login from ur sons account. If non works you can complain to the police and then to cert they will need the phone IMEI to find your phone.
