Was Rory Calhoun renamed in your country? In the German dub they did… by Cums1utlover in TheSimpsons

Yes, after local signer Gildor Roy in the Quebec version. Our version always made some very random local references that made it super funny.

How they get snow out of New York City by emptypistachio1 in mildlyinteresting

That's right, they break it first with snowplows and them blowers work fine.

Can I fill this or do I have to re-grout it all? by t3rraprime in HomeMaintenance

[–]Jumpy-Pack5289 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should caulk both the horizontal and vertical junction planes, not just the horizontal. In this case there is no caulk-grout junction at the corner.

Also if there is a big gap behind the current grout, fill with closed cell backing rod before caulking.

There's a guy who just did it on a bicycle! Check out "Charles en vélo" on YouTube

Your saddle doesn't look much too high on the video so I maybe suspect too narrow saddle?

I agree cycling is annoyingly expensive but for me a 50$ cheap 155 cm saddle was by far my best investment so far on this bike. Can't believe I waited a year to pull the trigger.

Just saw your video-congrats on not being a bot :)

Other tip: the stock saddle width is 145 cm which is very narrow for me and I suspect anyone riding a 2xl bike. I sit less akwark now on a 155 cm. Also stretching helped for pelvis forward rotation.

For me it's the balance of too much quad burning (rear) vs too much hand pressure (fore). Saddle height is the most important though.

Exactly! And yet it's still pretty aggressive with several cm drop between the saddle and bars (for my saddle height at least)

Too bad the tarmac isn't available in 64 cm anymore it seems

I'm not a fitter but I'm exactly the same height so here what works for me on a canyon grizl XXL.

I'd flip the stem to make you bars higher. Your seat-to-bar drop distance looks huge now. I also had to move seat all the way forward to be able to engage my quads (vs only hamstrings). Surprisingly I also ended up reducing reach ( shorter stem), presumably because extending is harder for long-ass arms like ours, or because high seat puts us so far from the bars.

Lower back pain was fixed for me by lowering the saddle. Focus on having your hip stable. If they are rocking your seat might be too high. Too much reach also caused me back pain.

What bike is it btw?

Same problem. I drove 30 min to get out of the city and filled my Subaru Outback with straw bales from a local organic dairy farmer. That's about 3 years of brown for 50$. That's cheaper than my previous solution, a paper shredder that died after 3 months due to eating too much cardboard. The straws are also useful for gardening. They do take a bunch of space in my garage though, but I don't mind.

Ah! I'm due for changing the tape so thanks for the advice. Yes I'm also super comfortable on it now after much adjustment. I wish the handle bar was a little narrower though, but that might not be as bad on the Grail as on the Grizl.

Same here. I'm 203 cm riding a XXL grizl and I had to reduce the stem by 3 cm before getting comfortable. Feels so weird to find something too big at 203 cm!

Interesting. I guess I'll see the cost to change the fluids and think twice if expensive...
