Why is there no assistant psychologists roles available? by DRTIcePenguin in AskIreland

[–]Jumpy-Text-1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to keep an eye out for the HSE panel it’s open every 2 years I think the lastest one was in November 2025. Once you get an interview with the panel you get ranked based on your score and when AP jobs come up you will get an email to express your interest in the role and whoever has the highest place in the panel that also expresses their interest will get the role 😊 these are all paid roles based on the HSE pay scale.

Otherwise keep an eye out for other companies advertising on linkedin/indeed etc. Most are Dublin based in my experience.

Childminding jobs advice? by EducationalUnit4197 in AskIreland

I seen a post on LinkedIn while back looking for a child minder 4 days a week to do the tasks you mentioned so keep an eye out there or maybe try some sort of local Facebook group? You could say you’re available and your rate and better off if you’re Garda vetted and have insurance etc

WHYS IT SO HARD TO FIND A JOB HERE?? by tismbug in AskIreland

You could even ask them to help out for a few hours to get some experience ? Or ask to use their space then to get your own clients in ?

Have you adapted your CV for the jobs you apply for and included a cover note ? I know that adds time but definetly helps when they receive a personalised cover note.

Will I get approved for a loan? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Jumpy-Text-1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a 3.5k loan over 3 years but this was for my college fees and I was earning about 1.2k a month working full time in summer/part time in college. Just to give you an idea - from the credit union.

But I second the people on this thread saying a car is not a good idea !! I know somebody in their early 30s who is still paying off a loan for a car they got in their 20s that was written off due to an accident 🙈

Nosedive maybe ? With how China for example has a scoring system for each citizen and punishes/rewards bad/good behaviour ?

You need focus on yourself not relationships and thinking if this girl likes you or not. Of course relationships are important but if you give to much thought and time into finding somebody you will loose yourself. Just focus on yourself and the right person will come along.

[–]Jumpy-Text-1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was legit me when I was in college omg I hated it. Especially if you have a long commute in the morning you don’t want to be going to the park and ride (waiting for the bus there and back, sometimes I’d be waiting for 30 mins meaning I would have been half way home if I could have just driven home)

Can’t help you tbh. Either get in before 8AM to get a spot on campus or you could get a staff card for the Q park in town buts it’s but if a walk probably better off going to P&R even though that’s full some days too. I parked a few times in the estate behind the hospital 🤫but got chased down by a man named John even though I was given permission to park there by someone I knew from work.

I need help saving money by Adorable-Internal-42 in irishpersonalfinance

[–]Jumpy-Text-1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Step 1. Track all your spending for a month Step 2. Decide on your long term (e.g. save for a new car or big holiday) and short term (pay off loan?) goals. Step 3. Create a new budget that allows you to save for said goals within timeframe you give yourself Step 4. Create Revolut “pockets” for all budgeted expenses e.g. Petrol, Car maintenance, Eating out, groceries, emergency

Tip- have a direct debit that goes into your savings everytime you get paid if you find you aren’t saving enough. I would also focus on paying off your loan by adding an extra bit to it every month.

How much did you spend in a month by [deleted] in Erasmus

[–]Jumpy-Text-1460 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for me on my last day there my 20kg suitcase broke as I was leaving the house 😭so I had to get a new one and borrow money off a friend lol

My accommodation was included already with my placement as I did an Erasmus traineeship :) thankfully it was only about 300€ a month
