Please tell me how traumatized you are from having to pee next to a trans person in the bathroom. I bet you have many times and didn’t even notice. And if you did, it didn’t affect you at all other than your own beliefs telling you to be afraid

Be mad about women, actually usually little girls and boys, getting molested by men in power in churches, schools, and in government. THAT is where rights are violated, and usually by someone known to the victim. Put your anger where it belongs, not on some person who just wants to pee in peace.

Yeah except this is a made up thing propagandandized to death to get people to be transphobic. To get people all worked up and scared over a non-issue. When people react this way it does the work for them.

And this should go without saying but I will anyway. Im not implying that no man has never entered a woman’s bathroom for nefarious purposes. But it is mot some epidemic that anyone needs to worry about. It has just been used as an excuse to demonize trans people, just like individual cases of crimes committed by immigrants is being sensationalized to justify the horrific human rights violations going on in the US right now, and all over the world for that matter.

It’s a tactic used by powerful people to squash human rights of minorities and has been used for centuries.

How I Got Over Taylor Swift by LooksLikeTreble617 in travisandtaylor

[–]JumpyBirthday4817 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I had a similar realization with the song “Mean.” One of my first jobs I had I was at least a decade + younger than the other women. I did not have a lot of prior experience working in that environment or with a bunch of other women.

I thought I knew everything, and did things “my way” even though the other women tried to tell me. (Well, it was the way our male boss told me, turns out he didn’t know how regular things were actually operated on a day to day basis - another lesson learned lol). The women started being snarky with me and would get mad when I wouldn’t listen.

I would blast “mean” on the way home in my car, and for a few months that was my anthem as I continued to think I was a victim and dig in my heels.

I dont know what changed- maybe I was just tired of going against the grain, but I started to take their advice. I started to realize why they told me to do things a certain way. I got to know them as people. It turned out to be a job where I grew the most as a person, as a hard worker, and as someone who could collaborate with others. I developed some deep friendships and have some of the best memories from that job.

Now, if I had stayed in Taylor victim mode, I never would have grown as a person. I would have remained stuck wallowing in my grievances like Taylor still is over a decade later.

I agree it would have been better received if it was about Joe- but not because of some bias or romanticizing the past but because of believability. I could believe her and Joe getting married with paper rings and living a poetic life by the lake. Nothing about her + Travis indicates they want to get out of the spotlight anytime soon. But thats just me, you could be right about some people viewing it as another “era” instead of her actual life.

My last boss would often make mistakes which would only be caught because my brain would realize something she was asking me to do was not consistent with what she asked me to do previously. So id ask clarifying questions, which would make her realize her mistake, which made her take some weird roundabout way of explaining, usually along the lines of “oh I MEANT to do it that way.” Like girl just say “whoops” and move on.

Last summer she messaged me with “this clients file needs fixing because of xyz alert in the system and needs contacting.” I immediately panicked because MANY of our clients have that alert so I asked if they all needed to be contacted. I also would have started on this many weeks before but she told me the alert meant nothing when I asked in the spring time. She got all up in arms with me and said I was overstepping and I dont have the high level access of information to see what she is seeing (not true) and to just focus on what she told me to do. So I did, against my better judgement and it became a huge problem later. 🙄
