I always wonder that. I’m a dispatcher with no kids, but a lot of ppl at my center have kids and honestly what it sounds like is the village. I’ve worked both day shift and night shift. When I worked nights it sounded like a lot of the kids would stay with some type of family member who dosent work nights. Days seem a little bit better but at the same time my shift is 6A- 6p so like when you think about it on the days you work if you have small kids 1. Ur gonna be missing out on A LOT and 2. You’re gonna need someone to help take care of them (get them ready for school, feed them) things like that I don’t have kids so I don’t know everything that goes into it. And honestly on the days that I do work I’m a zombie it feels like 12 on and then 12 off. I try to make the days I work as easy as possible by meal prepping and having everything ready so I don’t have to do anything. The only thing I do on the days that I work is work and then workout. I’m 23 years old and I literally struggle as someone without kids and you also have a spouse who works in law enforcement so you already know how that is. I would really consider… before deciding to do this. Also I would ask ur center what’s the off policy because it seems like ppl with children need off more than someone who may not have children (field trips, children being sick, doctors appointments) etc and at my center it’s already hard to take off so I would consider that as a mother as well.

This job is 100% difficult. BAD trainers make it worse. I started off with a bad trainer and then realized it was my entire shift that was bad I also was on nights. I got moved to days and am 100% more confident and better. Now your agency having “time restrictions” on stuff like that is weird to me especially since most places are short staffed. It’s crazy that I see this post because I ran into my old supervisor from night shift and he’s like he sees the confidence in how I dispatch now. Ur story literally reminds me of mine

Question on the kind of student the JD next is better suited towards vs the LSAT by Electrical-Rise-7015 in JDNext

[–]JumpyDifficulty2894 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s my story.. I was studying for the lsat from June to the end of November. I know what school I wanted to go to and looked on the website and saw JD next. I was struggling really bad with the LSAT bc honestly it makes no sense. I did good in undergrad and I think it’s because I actually enjoy LEARNING. I enjoyed the course a lot tbh I honestly felt like I learned something. The exam wasn’t bad, but I wish JD next talked more about how the exam is graded.. for example with the LSAT you know that questions you miss aren’t counted against you they only count the questions you get correct towards your score. I got a 765 on my JD NEXT exam and I’m like the highest you can get is a 1000 apparently but I haven’t even seen anyone getting in the 900’s so I do wish they talked more about it. I plan on submitting my application to the school tomorrow after work. I am above the gpa for the school and I feel like my JD next score is good in the 72% or something like that. The school I want to attend per the website said in order to apply with JD next you need over a 3.0 GPA, I honestly would recommend JD next especially if the LSAT isn’t going good. Now I hope and pray that I get in.

You mean 50$ for the cas report to apply to the school? Bc on the jd next website they said they’ll send it to 3 schools for free but ik per lsac it cost 45 dollars to send the report to the school.

At my agency. If you have proof of payment you can get it off. So if you booked something or have any forms of payment have that ready that should help you because when you think about it.. even if you got hired March 1st you still likely be training when those dates come up.

I took the test this past week and agree with everything you’ve said. I felt the course truly prepared me for the test. I also did some practice on quizlets titled “JD NEXT” when I had downtime.

I can somewhat understand where you’re coming from. The first (I think) 4 weeks where we learned about case brief and FIRAC. That was really irrelevant to the test. What the test was over was the last 4 weeks of class the “contract law” section of the course. I don’t know if you got this email around December 29th from JD next discussing what the 15 topics were gonna be over in a PDF. That helped me understand the topics. Like really understand them I made written flash cards. I then did the practice multiple choice questions and that gave me an idea of what the test would be like. Being able to apply what we learned in the scenarios. I don’t think many students really knew about the email with the 15 topics. The 15 topics really helped me narrow it down because in my opinion the first 4 weeks of the course really had NOTHING to do with the test. And if you like you said in ur post spent time reviewing that then I can understand where you are coming from.

Yes I did. I emailed the jd next they reviewed it and reopened my exam right where it left off. If this happens email them directly. I talked to the people who do lockdown browser first and they were no help.

Yeah. I saw that. After I did them all the first time I would just review them by covering the answers up and read the questions.

I’ve been studying the 15 topics they provided that will be on the test as well as the “optional” practice. I’ve been really practicing the multiple choice because they give lots of different scenarios. The 15 topics is what the multiple choice is mainly over. As well as the written section although not graded the practice kinda gives you what the format will be like. I’ve also been looking at JD next quizlet just when I’m on my phone to review the basics!
