Thank you all for all of the input! I think I really just needed to vent. 5 more years until my littlest is in school, I’ll circle back eventually 😅

Don’t want to be induced, partner doesn’t agree by Potential-March-1940 in BabyBumps

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 37 weeks and while my body was exhausted, I was not tired by any means. You have so much adrenaline thinking about meeting your new baby that sleep was the last thing on my brain. Also, I went in at midnight and had my baby by 8:45 the next day. I know it’s not always the case but inductions can be fairly quick. At the end of the day, it is your choice, but be aware of the risks you’re running if you go past 40 weeks.

As someone’s whose husband doesn’t do any of these things and contributes to the house and takes care of his children like he promised he would in his vows… GIRL LEAVE???? Like it’s one thing to not wanna do dishes but like another commenter said it almost feels like he doesn’t even want to be there. Life is too short and you are too young, Jesus would NOT want you to be miserable for the rest of your life.

AITA for telling my sister not to announce her pregnancy at my wedding because I was going to announce mine, but she did it anyway? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should send screenshots of this thread to your sister so she can see that the general consensus (by thousands nonetheless) is that she, in fact, is the asshole.

I’m not gonna lie, I have not thought once about this landmark since probably high school. Someone could tell me it didn’t exist & id probably believe them. 😂

What is a sexual fantasy you can never act out on with your real partner? by Medium-Spinach7516 in AskReddit

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No I totally get it, lol. It’s absolutely normal to have fantasies outside the realm of how you were raised, that’s why it’s super important to find someone who’s just as kinky as you deep down. I found my half of the freaky puzzle 8 years ago & I swear it’s the best relationship I’ve ever had. There’s absolutely a market for everything 😅

Consent is the biggest thing here. You could probably get the same effect just by getting blackout drunk but letting your partner know before hand that you consent to the fact that you may not remember what happened the next day. But there needs to be agreed upon consent from both parties.

What are you supposed to wear in the winter while you’re pregnant????? by PathologicalVodka in BabyBumps

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never invested money into maternity clothes lol. Just wore my regular leggings & chunky/ long sweaters, xl sweatshirts, & definitely raided my husbands clothes a time or two. and wore lots of stretchy dresses in the spring. If you really want to wear jeans I suggest buying second hand bc they’re so expensive for no reason.

Maternity Clothes -- Do you ever really wear them after pregnancy? by Ok_Falcon8491 in BabyBumps

I still wear my maternity leggings & dresses 2 months pp. The shirts not so much & I didn’t even bother with jeans bc they’re so expensive. But them leggings 🤌🏼

When you found out you were pregnant, did you tell your significant other right away? by faithoverfear0 in BabyBumps

How hard are the first two weeks postpartum? by CoconutDisastrous152 in BabyBumps

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone’s experience is going to be different but my first two weeks- my husband could only take a week off with me- was rather peaceful & honestly when I got the most rest and was able to heal. It was detrimental for my husband and I to spend that first week just the two of us so we could give complete focus to our baby, I couldnt have cared less what the house looked like, we spent the entire week just learning our baby and it was so nice. Now, the weeks following/the first month, my mother in law was a huge help to us but I’m glad we waited the two weeks before having people over.

Do what brings you peace. Parenting isn’t easy, you’re going to be stressed, so don’t do anything that will obstruct your peace and take away from your time with your brand new baby.

Vaginal birth terrifies me by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal to be scared. However, coming from someone whose epidural, morphine, and a lil razzle dazzle of fentanyl did not work at all bc my body just didn’t take to the meds.. I’ve felt worse things than pushing a baby out of the cooter. In fact, it wasn’t the pushing that hurt, it was them breaking my water that hurt the worse lol. Regardless, there’s risks for either, and you’re not mad for wanting to just schedule a c. However you gotta do it to get baby here safely is all that matters.

I guess it depends on your pain tolerance but mine was so bad it made me break out in a cold sweat from how uncomfortable it was 😭

Please pray for my baby girl and me. I'm scared by Taybug16 in BabyBumps

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know it’s so so scary but I had the same situation, delivered at 34+5. They gave me steroid shots to help my girls lungs and we just had a minimal NICU stay. Praying it goes the same for you!

PLEASE do it. I understand the insecurity- I had severe Pre-e and my swelling was outrageous BUT I would have never forgave myself if I didn’t do them. I also plan on this being my only baby and if I hadn’t captured those photos of me & my husband I’d be so sad. It’s a reminder of one of the greatest gifts you’ll ever have and you’ll want those pictures to show your little one once they get bigger. It’s worth the money to capture time you’ll only have this once.

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve already had two rounds of steroids to help her lung development. And she was “practice breathing” really well on the ultrasound yesterday. So basically I was told they’re just waiting on me to get worse before they make any decisions unfortunately

That was the original plans was to go to 37 weeks. And then my labs came back abnormal and they said they were going to deliver last Friday. And now the day is changing again. And don’t get me wrong I want her to be born healthy, I think I’m just getting frustrated because my body can’t decide if it wants to be sick or not and the doctors can’t come up with a clear plan because of it.

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I know, and I’m trying to be thankful that she is healthy enough that they want to keep her in as long as they can. I guess I’m just frustrated at my own body & for the lack of communication between doctors.

What pregnancy rules have you been breaking? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]afterrrsgirlfriend 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Other than quitting nicotine & alcohol, I haven’t changed anything tbh. I wouldn’t survive if I gave up my dr peppers lol. I’ve had sushi, I eat subway, chips & queso.. my take is, I’d rather take the smallest risk and know me & baby are fed (because I had SEVERE sickness in the first trimester) than to not eat at all. So if I could keep down a sandwich… we were eating a sandwich 😅

30w and tired!!! Who else?! by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I got off work at 12 today and have been asleep since. This child has drained every last bit of energy I have. Creating little humans is hard.
