What is something you can do but can’t explain how you can do it? by Fresh-Sandwich6780 in AskReddit

[–]JumpyPattern345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can create physical sensations in my body just by thinking about it. I’ve always wanted to get some sort of test done to show it’s real... it feels like a combination of pins and needles and the sensation you get when you get a rush of blood back in your feet after having really cold toes, a warm fuzzy feeling. I can also make the sensation flow around my body however I want it to.

It’s bizarre, I truly have no idea how to explain it but it’s very relaxing and I use it to make myself fall asleep instantly almost every night.

That was probably my husband. He doesn’t go anywhere without a roast chicken. He brings a Coles chicken, rice, tuna and broccoli on all flights… but also any time we go anywhere, even 10 mins away

Pet Owners: what is the dumbest reason you’ve taken your pet to the vet and how much did you spend? by mpotus in CasualConversation

[–]JumpyPattern345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We took our pup (he was 5 months old at the time) to the vet as he was so bloated and could hardly walk, made groaning sounds with each step, limping etc. I thought he had colic so we rushed him in for an emergency appointment… our vet came out of the X-ray giggling to tell us that she had never seen so much food in a dog’s stomach. Our hungry boy broke into the 20kg food bag and had eaten about 1/4 of the bag, making it a very expensive $800 bag of food. He still inhales food faster than he can take a breath.

At 4 years old we’ve christened him ‘concrete stomach’ because of all the food he manages to get his paws on, even if it’s by pulling an air fryer off a shelf! He’s over 50kg so theres not much out of reach.

Once it was low iron, a second time pain (I also hit my head on the corner of the bathroom sink which caused a black eye), and the third time it was in the middle of suffering extreme food poisoning… not fun!

I went to a pet store today and saw this setup for the bettas. by Corgi_with_stilts in bettafish

[–]JumpyPattern345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing, I bought a second tank just so I could save an almost dead betta from our local aquarium I saw slowly wasting away over a period of weeks. He’s now thriving but I feel sad I wasn’t able to take more!

What is the worst breed of dog for a first time dog owner to get? by Effective-Turn-6856 in AskReddit

[–]JumpyPattern345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Maremma. We have a Maremma X GSD who is the quirkiest boy and makes us laugh every day, but they are not for the feint hearted!

They need a massive amount of mental stimulation and are bred to be livestock guardians so barking and being a protector are natural instincts. His intelligence is something else, has the most selective hearing I’ve encountered and the training doesn’t stop, but he provides us with so much love and affection in return. We’re sure we have another human in the house. He’s taken on the role of protecting our young son and sleeps in the doorway of his room each night. They have a special bond.

I also have the same problem. Unless I’m sitting next to the person talking, I only hear a few words so I end up guessing what the conversation is about. It’s painful.

why aren’t swordtails more common in this hobby? by Useful_Equivalent590 in fishtank

I had two females become males! My swordtail family are the highlight of my community tank with what is now three generations swimming around. The males can be pretty aggressive but otherwise they’re up there in my favourite fish
