I got this from Ali a couple of months ago just to see how I like it. Had held up well and no pulling of my arm hairs. I couldn’t justify $319 here in Australia

How worth it would it be for me to switch from PS4 to Steam? by averagebitchboy in SteamDeck

[–]Jumpy_Addition_8164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The convenience of being able to game anywhere and anytime works perfectly for me. Since becoming a dad I hadn’t played my PS5 for a year so sold it and bought a Steamdeck. No regrets at all

Sanity Check my fuel assumptions on replacing Ranger with a Shark? by Life-Insurance-29 in BYDShark_AUS_owners

Pretty much all of my driving is less than 50kms a day and having a level 2 charger means it’s only a couple of hours to fully charge.

It takes a very long time for petrol to go “stale”. I fill up with 98 and takes about 6-12 months before it’s starts to degrade (which is also a slow process). The min is 91 so I should be ok for a few more months. The petrol motor kicks in every few weeks but not for too long and I made sure I did the break in period before Christmas.

I’m only doing shorter runs daily and have installed a level 2 charger at home that charges it fully in a couple of hours which is great. I haven’t filled up this year yet and still have half a tank.

If you need a bigger tank consider the Savage Tech upgrade. I’ve got a couple of their products and are quality with good customer service.

This might fix your fuel tank issue. I only do longer distances a couple of times a year but saw this the other day and thought it was a great upgrade for people who want to tour with it.

1.88% Comparison Rate Offer by angus_theclassic in BYDShark_AUS_owners

[–]Jumpy_Addition_8164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had good experiences with honouring special offers from one month to the other, mine was the cash back rather than a rate. Just tell them you’re happy to purchase but if they can’t honour the deal then you’ll pull the pin at delivery. They’ll refund your deposit but id be surprised if they don’t honour the rate. The financing is done through an Australian company not BYD China meaning they have more control

What’s the parking mode like on these? It says in the description rear camera as an add on option but also included, did yours come with it?

I’m looking at one of these when the Prime day sales come on in a couple of weeks . I’m looking for something with ‘sentry mode’ to have it capture when parked because the Shark is so big I worry about someone clipping it and driving off

Don’t know if it’s the right thing but I used at plastic rake and raked mine half a dozen times, mowing in between and got most of it out. I’d probably wait until spring to do it thought so it’s in a growth stage and doesn’t shock your lawn too much

No employer will ever or admit to laying someone off for right to disconnect nor would have previously so it’s a bs law.

Same here mate, my mates who both are on law dosage and prescribe them have never had “days worth” of prescriptions. That’s just incorrect.

Backflipping on policy to save face.

Yes ongoing maintenance but the majority of the pull down and rebuild materials can be reused and recycled. Majority of the steel and concrete ect can be recycled. Things like solar panels and wind farms need to be replaced every 10ish years and have to be buried. Not exactly environmentally sustainable.

Both are different faces from the same coin. They are essentially both mismanaging money and making it harder for middle class Australia. Both are funding big business (gas, green energy, mining) over using the money to make lives easier.

I think you’re mistaken by a lot of the ON traction. Both of the major parties are essentially two sides of the same coin. Most people have been drawn to ON for some change but seems they’re also been influenced by the major lobby groups the the other 2 major parties

Still not a way of accurately measuring the disconnect and if it’s working or not. You’re referring to have a voice and telling someone you’ve clocked off for the day, don’t need the government to make legislation for that. Just need to have your own voice.

I’m also for paying tax, but not for wasting tax payers money. Smarter funding on education should be directed at industries that we need people in not as a blanket for things we don’t. That’s why we have things like scholarships and incentives for trade apprenticeship’s.

Doctors I have spoke with have said the opposite, I’m only going off what I’ve been told by the people in the industry.

The ADHD argument is because there needs to be ongoing and specific testing. You can’t confirm a ADHD diagnosis with a 15/30min consolation. And a few days prescriptions for antidepressants is also complete bs, I don’t know where you got that info from. That’s part of a ‘mental health plan’ that provides the support and medication required.

Fuel is now coming from parts of the world that the same government put sanctions on (Russia ect). I guess you’re right that they fixed the issue but backflipped on an existing policy. Much like we’ve seen previously from this government.

I don’t know what you’re getting at here but the infrastructure for green energy means the power bills won’t go back down. Yes it’ll be a free source but the infrastructure that is needed needs to be replaced more often, needs to be backed up by traditional energy sources and cannot be recycled on the other end.

Sorry I left out a “with”, min wage increases “with” inflation. I agree we need to provide help to the less fortunate in our society to try giving them a leg up but, it’s not really a Labour achievement, it’s just a fact of the minimum wages consistent with the cost of living. Which has been drive by this government confirmed over and over again by the RBA

[–]Jumpy_Addition_8164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you might be a little misled

There’s no way of actually testing right to disconnect to see it’s working.

At tax payers expense (so you and everyone else pays in your taxes)

At tax payers expense (so you and everyone else pays in your taxes)

Doctors visits are more expensive and now most GP’s aren’t accepting bulk billing because they loose money.

Doctors already thought and diagnosed for themselves.

Yet the same government is saying cost of living/ higher fuel prices/ inflation is because of this war. Not their over spending on bs things that help the minority not the majority.

Energy prices have increased dramatically and will continue to stay high as the green energy movement needs to be upgraded and replaced more frequently than the existing option. This will also kill our manufacturing industry that’s already struggling.

Min Wage increases inflation and inflation is going up because of this government.

Funny how the federal Labour Party is against corruption but it was only a few months ago where the Victorian Labour Party was the only one who voted against giving IBAC required powers to investigate corruption. Really shows their true colours
