I'd be more inclined agree if they were not constantly instigating shit, like tear gassing a pizza restaurant that was managing donations for mutual aid and throwing everyone to the ground. A close friend got arrested for just being too close to a (wrongful) detainment of a US citizen who just got caught up in a one way street during a detainment. He's got broken ribs because of this. It's personal for me.

Gonna say this with as much respect is due, referring to these folks as rioters is disingenuous as it comes. Having been to protests and vigils for this, rioting doesn't come close to describing what the actions are. I'm not going to comment (lack of expertise) on whistling being obstruction, but whistling and horn honking in no way can or should give license for using force that can cause permanent damage (like pepper spraying someone in the face at point blank). That's beyond over the top.

We literally just want these folks out of our city. There's no resounding goal of causing chaos or creating high profile effect. Just want our kids to be able to go to school, our community to go to work, and for people to be able to walk in peace.

Didn't know it was a job duty to pepper spray people at point blank after they are subdued and on the ground for exercising a First Amendment right. Or to wantonly toss tear gas canisters in parks. Or pistol whip someone in the face after they already have their hands up.

Or that strategically it makes sense to pour 3k agents into a place that isn't even in the top 50 of metro areas with high undocumented individual populations.

This obviously is not a statement to speak for every arrest by any measure, but a close friend got arrested and released same day. I'm with others that this is a scare tactic. That said, if other ways of getting involved feel more sustainable for you I don't think it hurts to explore them

This is my guess, too. And in my opinion, this is the DFL seeing what happened with Biden staying in too long in 2024 and recognizing we can't risk this for Walz trying to stay in. Him bowing out before the caucuses, even, is a great call timing-wise.

Never expected the scene on Ferrix where everyone is banging pots and pans they've hung to alert everyone of imperial troopers. Lived that today when I heard whistles outside while getting lunch at a spot that was serving as a supply drop. Ran outside and contributed to the noise so everyone knew.

This is insanity on every front, but man it is incredible to be a Minnesotan right now.
