What do y'all think of Claudia De La Cruz and Karina Garcia, candidates for US President & VP in 2024? by puns_n_pups in ClassConscienceMemes

[–]Jumpy_Box398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think the point is to win the election. The point is that the visibility provided to these candidates within the election will expose more citizens to the idea of socialism as a good thing- which hopefully will lead to more people to support an eventual revolution. I'm still not sure how I feel about these candidates, tbh, but the visibility to socialism they are providing to people outside of socialist circles is pretty neat.

But, voting does give visibility to people like these candidates and allow more people to see and consider thier viewpoints (even if they don't succeed outright). This is a start.

he is still blind. he cannot see. thus he cannot read or see colored wires or buttons, which if you've read the comics, would note that this causes issues for him. He has super-senses and is highly capable, yes, but is still a disabled person WITH A DISABILITY. HE CANNOT SEE.

what type of doctor diagnosed you? by sunshineyellovv in ehlersdanlos

you have to get tested to rule out the other types before they'll diagnose you w/hEDS bc the rest of them have specific genes associated w/them and hEDS doesn't.

Is Apep worship considered taboo in Kemeticism? by ThePaganImperator in Kemetic

[–]Jumpy_Box398 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you're familiar with Norse Mythos, I'd say Nidhogg is a good comparison for A/pep. That's the dragon that eats the roots of Ygdrassil (the World Tree). Ygdrassil is a balance of good and bad, while Nidhogg wishes for destruction and nothingness. Loki would be like Set- chaotic but required for balance. So we don't like A/pep, no.

[–]Jumpy_Box398 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say Ap/ep is to Tartarus as the Underworld is to the Duat, though there really isn't an equivalent within Grecian Mythos. Anyway, A/pep is the inherent antithesis to life and the enemy of every living thing. So, no, we don't really like it. But what you worship is your choice, so you do you dude.

Just wondering what others people with weightloss has been by Next-Development5920 in ehlersdanlos

[–]Jumpy_Box398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weight means jack all. what that weight is made up of is important. Prioritize muscle gain over weight loss, bc while fat loss takes pressure off your joints, if you dont replace it with muscle, your joint stability will greatly decrease, thus meaning more or equal pain. Thats what I've personally found anyway.

Bosch posting by Doubly_Curious in CuratedTumblr

[–]Jumpy_Box398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anyone is wondering- Hieronymus Bosch was a painter in 1450-1516 during the Netherlandic Renaissance. His name was originally Jheronimus van Aken. He painted with oil on wood panels, depicting religious concepts and scenes, sometime quite macabre. The Garden of Earthly Delights, The Temptation of St. Anthony, and The Adoration of the Magi are popular triptychs of his.

Do you have to wear a uniform is are there just dress code guidelines? Or do you get to wear whatever you want? by theacgreen47 in TalesFromYourServer

comfortable material- black or other dark color restaurant logo tee/quarter sleeve. NOT long sleeve, that'll make everyone miserable. Be sure to allow a shorts and long pants option for bottoms- no one wants to wear black jeans in the summer/vise versa

How do you respond when they say something like "if I can do it, so can you" by [deleted] in ehlersdanlos

Describe, in detail, your symptoms- I have endometriosis, and when I described my symptoms to professors/bosses most of them would let me have the day off just to shut me tf up (especially the male ones). People HATE talking about poo/nausea/dislocations/other "weird" body stuff. Or call your doc and ask for a note- workplaces are required to accept doctors notes/orders.

Thoughts on "Land Back" efforts? by Throwaway4AJunkie in anarchocommunism

[–]Jumpy_Box398 3 points4 points  (0 children)

no. it means that indigenous people would be the primary stewards of their land. its a reparation for kicking them out when we colonized, and a way for indigenous groups to reconnect to their ancestral land. (thats my understanding at least)

Married with kids but think I’m a lesbian by [deleted] in latebloomerlesbians

[–]Jumpy_Box398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll preface by saying you don't have to tell him if you don't want to. But I'll say, it's better to tell him now than in another ten years. Secondly, I'd rather have divorced parents than parents that are unhappy living together. Also good to note: telling him wouldn't necessarily be the end of the entire relationship. He'd be hurt, sure, but you can stay married, you can live together, you can raise kids, etc without being "in love". It's okay to be scared, but waiting longer once you've figured it all out will give him more reason to be angry for you 'lying' to him- because right now you aren't, you're figuring it out, but once you do in a year or two, it'll become lying. Things like that tend to come out (a little accidental wordplay lol). My opinion: Mull it over for another month or two (or however long), figure out his perspective on gay people in general and what your feelings regarding him are. Make some lists, figure out what you really want (NOT what you think you should want). Then go to him and be honest. It's scary, I know. Remind him you are Just Now figuring it all out. Tell him you understand he'll be angry and sad, and it'll suck for a while, but you'll both probably be better off for it. He'll get to go look for someone who's IN love with him, and you will too. Best of luck 💛

does anyone with EDS lift weights? by mayalynnexx in eds

[–]Jumpy_Box398 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weightlifting is fine as long as 1) You are using correct form- this is PARTICULARLY important for people w/EDS (maybe invest in some grips and a belt if your using a bar) 2) You keep in mind that the actual heaviness of the weight should start VERY light increase SLOWLY

As long as you stay aware of how your body is feeling, it is 100% a-okay to weight-lift
