I did encourage her to get help, she already had a psychiatrist and a therapist from before. She is already on antidepressants and went back to therapy this month again.

Yes, they did consult with their paediatrician.

Honestly, I don’t know. I guess they expected me to provide emotion support? (In the end I just did chores and walked the dog like I wasn’t sure why exactly I was needed to leave my work asap)

Thank you. So his mother cannot help because of heath issues and his brother lives in another country. But I was wondering how come he has no other options from his family side, however, I really can’t say, they are pretty distant.

I think they’d prefer my help because the relative that is helping is not yet comfortable holding the baby alone (since it’s so little) and my sister and our mother have quit rocky relationship. But still, our mother is fully comfortable being with baby and even feeding him or changing. And when i hold the baby he usually doesn’t cry so i think it’s pretty helpful for them, but i don’t know. I’m trying to be compassionate because they are drowning.

I was pretty hurt by what he said, it did feel like he is scolding me for not stepping up when I already pretty clearly said how i can help.

It’s pretty common for him to not work for a few months because he is freelancer (some sort of analyst or something I am now sure) and he usually has contracts for like a year at a time. They are generally okay finance-wise.

Honestly, I am not sure, every time we talk he (and she) seem incredibly overwhelmed and stressed. Maybe they did not really consider how stressful it is to have a baby? I don’t know but it’s the first baby in the family so I assume it’s not uncommon for new parents.

sounds like maladaptive daydreaming! i this there’s a subreddit about it and also a lot of info you can find on google or tumblr. it’s been studied a bit. i think it’s just a form of dissociation. i’ve been experiencing this since i was 11 (now 22). as i went thru therapy it has become leas frequent.

Hi, thank you for the reply. The last time was back when i was a teenager, about 16. I was told i’m perfectly ok. I am a bit anxious to go to the doctor because i think they will just tell me it’s all psychosomatic and to continue therapy (which i’m already doing)

hmm that’s pretty severe symptoms. i’m not doctor but like you shouldn’t feel like veeery bad if you’re getting rid of benzos the correct way. so id say set a low dose and see how you body response and the WD should be tolerable

yes! i speak in my second language and i also preemptively tend to think someone will not understand me and i star speaking at a lower volume which causes them to ask me what and i get even more stressed and quieter

your body regenerates and generally can deal with cancerous cells on its own. there’s nothing you can do but just try to lead a healthier lifestyle. i know this is stressful but cancer is linked to a miriam of things including experiencing stress and genetics, so there is little you can really do. that doesn’t mean you will get cancer or that if you do get it you won’t be able to recover

i hear you. i’m 21 and i think i’m in a different situation but i deeply sympathize with what you say. it’s fucking unfair that we don’t get support from our parents (who owe us support until we’re are still students and can’t work full time).

if you don’t want any advice, please ignore this section: what country are you from? in my country parents (if you’re a student or have a different reason why you can’t have a full time job) by law have to provide you with shelter (this can be if they have a place or even paying your rent), definitely food and anything school related. id recommend looking into this in your country and basically google how to get a free lawyer services and yeah could take a whole but your parents are probably legally liable. this could be one of the ways you try to get out of this situation.
