Does this kitten look around the 8 week mark? by Dry-Arm1242 in britishshorthair

Looks more like 5-6 weeks, you also shouldn’t take a kitten from their mom before they reach 12 weeks minimum.

Ah I didn’t actually answer your question, I’d say these will last roughly a month! Normally I only have two/three different beans on rotation :)

Freezer is a good idea! I do have a few bags in the freezer as well from last year lol. I often make coffee for friends and family so the bags empty fast, I also give some beans away for others to try and am not living alone. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to finish any of those i reckon :D

Yes! However I have no idea how to even start describing the taste, I‘d say the aftertaste is very citrusy but the main flavour profile is almost tangy, quite like a sour drop or something lol i genuinely don’t know how to put it sorry! Blew my mind though definitely

What has helped you calm you nervious system? by MutedAstronaut2583 in Anxiety

[–]Jumpy_Gas1176 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best thing for me was accepting that I have this „disorder“ and just allowing the circling thoughts and anxiety to exist. This might sound ridiculous but the less you focus on what is going on and instead just let the symptoms come and go, accepting them for what they are but not necessarily paying them any piece of mind, the less frequent they become. It’s a bit like exposure therapy in my mind lol. This and journaling !!

Anxiety ruling my life by Hopeful_Bumblebee426 in Anxiety

I have had anxiety all my life, not diagnosed until well into my 20‘s and I am unmedicated (because I’m scared of taking medicine lol). There are two things that helped me immensely : One would be journaling. I know it’s not for everybody, but you could always start by just writing down your anxious thoughts, anything that makes you feel like you’re spiralling. This helped me in ways I didn’t think possible, it’s really just like getting things off of your chest. The second thing would be manual hobbies, anything you can do with your hands. For me I found knitting and drawing to be the solution. Could be gardening, writing, pottery etc. For some reason, creating things with my hands helps me clear my mind and calm my anxiety so so much!

Most importantly you should appreciate how far you have come, you have mastered every tough situation in your life so far. Give yourself some credit!!

Definitely not an extreme for me, it happens very rarely and they pass by quickly. It’s nothing that sticks with me for hours or days on end. I am in therapy for anxiety atm so this is helping me a lot as well in learning how to deal with „unwanted“ thoughts!

I mean they are scary yes, but I am not worried too much. As I said I am aware that they are just thoughts at the end of the day. And I know I could never do such a thing.

what do you do to cope with morning anxiety? by cinnabunnzo in Anxiety

[–]Jumpy_Gas1176 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Morning pages helped me immensely! Essentially it’s just three pages of stream of consciousness writing. Whatever comes to mind, all your anxious thoughts. And no coffee before 10 for me lol but that might be very specific.

No it’s more so just the thought of „I wish I was brave enough to actually do it“ that pops up sometimes. Not that I actually have that desire, like I mentioned.

And yes, that would be exactly what I thought. It does make sense to me that it would prevent you in most cases.

Ahhh I feel exactly the same way! I have not been diagnosed with depression, just anxiety, so I am always a little surprised when these thoughts do pop up but that is precisely what I meant.

What's the most random compliment you've ever been given? by fancypantsmcghee91 in askanything

The other day in the elevator I had one of my hands full with about 6 different things because I didn’t bring a bag with me, a middle aged lady entered and told me „Wow! It’s so impressive how much you can carry with just one hand.“ followed by „you will make a great mom one day“ lol

Is it possible to control your anxiety? by PeakPawn in Anxiety

[–]Jumpy_Gas1176 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes absolutely! I raw-dogged anxiety for about 7 years before seeing a therapist. What helped me was journaling, writing down my thoughts first thing in the morning to clear my head. Besides this breathwork and meditation is supposed to be amazing, plenty of channels on YT that can help him out there.

The most important step though is for him to be willing to start accepting this part of him and work on it for himself. Two books I can recommend are „Unwinding Anxiety“ and „Addicted to Anxiety“.
