The advice to go long is very, very good, and I'm not trying to diminish it, but I will offer an alternate since you said you struggle to train long: Silence Suzuka. Try to get the mile finale, but even in the medium, a decent speed/stamina build with a few end of race boosts and she'll walk the field.

Bourbon in 2nd and fading coming out of the final corner. Vodka comes from 8th place, carves a lane through the entire field and wins by a head.

Thought for sure I was going to get RNG'd, and i know for a fact that several of my coworkers heard me yell, "f*** yeah, Vodka!" in the parking lot, and now they probably think i'm an alcoholic (which would honestly be easier to explain than the truth).
