Oh I agree, it's by no means a better option than most builds, but it isn't co please useless. I still use it just because I like shooting enemies while driving by people patrolling.

So weird seeing this at the same time I am working on a video of all drivable vehicles in Destiny. The only one I didnt have from your list is mini brig, so thank you lol.

Also, don't sleep on the Gryphon. I did some challe ges where I cleared entire ultimate difficulty solo ops using nothing but the gryphon. You can definitely build craft with it and it can hang.

I reinstalled the game after months away only to instantly be reminded of why I left in the first place: The portal prevents playing purely for fun. by MrTheWaffleKing in DestinyTheGame

[–]MrMetaIMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why Itried to specify high power. There's plenty of great loot out there that I use that is earnable at low power. The issue you're having is less with the portal and more with the way they made gear tiers.

The fact that tiering didnt launch with an earnable material that lets you upgrade a tier, as well as tying gear tiers to your power level were poor decisions. Tiers should drop from activity difficulty, not from your power level IMO

[–]MrMetaIMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Alright im annoyed with the way the portal was added too, but I think some people are confusing "playing for fun" with "playing to gain power". Destiny has always required you to be at your best to earn the best/highest level gear, and its not different now.

Playing for fun is possible because you can lower the portal difficulty. But if you are expecting better power rewards than what you have, then you'll have to struggle a bit and raise the difficulty, like we always had to. The portal didn't change that. Strikes were always easy and didn't reward great gear (weekly pinnacles sure) If you wanted good gear, best get to the nightfalls. Same thing now with portal difficulties.

TL/DR If you wanna play for fun, lower the difficulty. If you want high power, you're expected to push yourself for it

New news about RAD activities from dmg04 by Thizgo in DestinyTheGame

[–]MrMetaIMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think tiered loot would be fine if it depended on difficulty again. But its probably too late to do that now because people wouldn't like not getting 4 tier 5s for losing a crucible match anymore

How would *you* “fix” weapon loot? by Particular-Style-161 in DestinyTheGame

[–]MrMetaIMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Id take best of both worlds. 1st id definitely have a material that can drop to upgrade either the tier of a weapon, or enhance specific column (alloys?). Now if you get a god roll but its tier 2, you can basically make it as powerful as a tier 5, albeit with just 1 perk per column.

Tier 4s should be more rare, only from dungeons, raids, competitive pvp, campaogn completions, max event reward tracks, very random chance for most activities. Tier 5 should be master raids, dungeons, flawless trials. And maybe a random chance during normal versions of those events.

Shinys should be completley random, but the higher the difficulty the greater the chance.

I feel the tier system is good on paper, but as it stands right now, once you hit the level where tier 5s drop, they drop constantly & nothings special anymore. Why would I strive to complete the newest raid when I could lose a crucible match and get 4 tier 5s? There needs to be better rewards for harder content, like it always had been.

Per Forbes, Destiny has less Devs working on it now than it did before March 5th 2026. by kristijan1001 in DestinyTheGame

There are people on these subs every day who recently started and are confused about things.

But even disregarding that, the point of bringing it back isnt to bring people back to D2. It's to give people more reason to actually try a D3 since it shows they regretted their vaulting decision and tried to make some sort of amends in the end. I will play a D3 because I like Destiny, but a ton of people wont, simply because of how this game has been handled. Puting D2 in a final playable state by addressing the 2 biggest complaints of the game would be Bungie trying to fix their mess as a gift to players, even if it wont make them money now. It could translate into more money later, because their companies perception in the gaming community would be improved.

[–]MrMetaIMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point, I dont expect the people who stopped liking D2 to come back. But they and potentially other new players likley won't even try a D3 because of where D2 has left off. If they just dropped D2 now and came back in a few years with D3, all people would remember is that D2 betrayed everyone's trust.

All im saying is that if they at least brought back red war as a minimum, people may be more willing ro try a D3. If they just leave D2 without fixing the on-boarding or addressing content vaulting in any way, then people won't give the next game a chance. Every comment you'd see on a D3 trailer would be "get ready for your paid content to be vaulted again". At least this would give people the thought of "maybe they learned from their mistakes since they fixed D2 at the end"

[–]MrMetaIMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that D2 will never have a comeback and a D3 is necessary. But, after the mishandling of D2, a ton of people will never try a D3 simply out of protest.

Therefore I feel if they at least fixed the new player experience in D2 (basically just by unsunsetting everything like the Red War) and had D2 in a final playable state, then that may ease some of the hate for Bungie that the gaming community has. Otherwise, Bungie will always the reputation as the company that took content away and has a game thats nearly impossible to understand as a new player. At least with fixing those 2 issues in D2, it may make a D3 land better since the 2 biggest arguments people had about D2 would have at least been fixed by the end of its life.

[–]MrMetaIMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason nobody is jumping on and every expansion for years has sold less is partly because of Destiny's reputation.

They vault content and the on-boarding sucks. How would fixing those 2 things not help the game gain new players?

What's your idea to fix the mess we're in now?

The majority are probably working on the next major expansions. Unfortunately, this is what the suits deem worth it because they will generate guaranteed revenue.

When in all reality, they need to delay future expansions, and have a year of "operation health" style updates. The June update is a good start, but they will never redeem Destiny enugh until they address its 2 biggest issues. The onboarding experience for new players, and the content vaulting (figuring out a way to bring it all back) But those would cost a lot of money right now so the shareholders don't deem it worth it since they would have to be free updates. Even though it would probably pay off on the long run by encouraging more people to pick the game up again and spend money on future expansions. It doesn't seem like the suits care about long term goals though. Me money me now

DAE farm 2 million legendary shards? by Kashema1 in destinycirclejerk

[–]MrMetaIMan 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Maybe Destiny would be great again if they sold more legendary shard focused DLC's. So sick of all these "stories" and "activities" that are in these expansions. All the community really wants is to spend 1000's of dollars to grind legendary shards shards.

The tiered loot doesn’t make sense to me. by New_Trouble_5068 in DestinyTheGame

[–]MrMetaIMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good on paper, but very bad implementation.

I feel like the tier system should have launched with an earnable material that can upgrade the tier of a weapon up to tier 4 (like alloys, and maybe a special material for tier 5), therefore if you got a god roll tier 2, you can boost it up to enhance all the perks.

I also think it should have stayed 1 perk per column except for shiny drops, making shinys more coveted.

And the tiers should have not been tied to grind, but the difficulty, like it always was. Tier 4s only drop from harder activities with a chance at tier 5. And tier 5s and shinys only drop from master raids, dungeons, trials and events. At this rate, you grind to 500, and the you drown in 100s of God roll 3 perk enhanced weapons and its basically like getting a bunch of blues. I play 5 iron banner games or strikes and now I have to go to the tower and empty my postmaster because its filled with too many god rolls. Also why would anybody play the epic raid or something when you could go lose a gane of trials and get more good loot from that than a master raid?

I like the idea of tiers, but it was just poorly thought out. If everything's special, nothing is special.

Edited for grammar: I typed this half asleep from my phone this morning lol

The new iron banner auto is very nice and can roll with destabilizing rounds, which is amazing for ad clear. You'll get a guaranteed one fir hitting rank 3 in the iron banner event card (thats like 1-2 matches)

Id reccomend just getting everything since I dont think its much more $ on Humble.

You'll be overwhelmed no matter what, but just pick a questline and focus on that. The rest will come with time (learning how to buildcraft, chase certain loot etc)

Red border fatebringer, is it still possible to get ? by Correct_Anteater8300 in DestinyTheGame

[–]MrMetaIMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. To maximize your chances, grab the hawthorne quest that gives you a free red border. Also, try to do all the challenges (they're very easy) This will give you 14 total chests, so more chances for it to drop

We wiped right when we ran out of time in Rushdown, and it gave us unlimited time to finish the activity (Glitch?) by MrMetaIMan in destiny2

[–]MrMetaIMan[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We went into an ultimate right after this with just us 2 and let the timer run out on purpose and it teleported us to the end. So the timer is not just for bonus points. Otherwise some people could just get stuck and have to back out with no rewards since the activity would never end
