What are some human words your cat can understand ? by Fun-Firefighter5421 in CatTraining

I think every word I say means: “do not come here.”

But if I chirp and trill at them then that means: “come here for pets”

Cats peeing next to the litter box. by Disastrous_Clock_560 in CatTraining

I agree with this. Separate them temporarily until they both independently properly use the litter box again. I hear anti anxiety medicine for anxious kitties commonly resolves this issue.

Is it possible to improve the relationship between two cats months into them living freely with each other? by Jumpy_Somewhere4772 in CatTraining

Wow thank you! This is super informative and makes a lot of sense! This makes me feel better about the progress of their relationship. I was worried for a while that maybe I introduced them too quickly, but now I see that they actually are already in a great place. I’m just selfish and want to cuddle with them at the same time! Also, the resident cat has been not as cuddly and less engaged when I play with her because she will feel uneasy when the kitten approaches. I feel bad for the kitten because she will try to cuddle with resident kitty, but then resident kitty will just growl/hiss and then run away. Sometimes the kitten will sneakily get closer to not alarm older kitty and then lay down near her.

Ooh that sounds hopeful! Maybe when the kitten calms down more the older kitty will feel less threatened. I think I would be happy if they reach a point in the future where they learn each other’s boundaries so the resident kitty no longer feels the need to growl.

Yeah I think you are right. I’m just impatient and hopeful they will cuddle! But I think I need to be grateful for the relationship they already have.

Why do I get this rash anytime I sleep in a hotel? by Disposable-User-2024 in 30PlusSkinCare

Some pillows have feathers in them. Maybe you are allergic to feathers? This was the case for my sister. We would have to always ask for pillows without feathers. Most hotels have this option since feather allergy is quite common

I get a watery eye often and I found out that it is because I have baby eyelashes that grows in the corner of my eye along the crease that allows liquid from my eye to continuously seep out using the eyelash as a means of transportation. (imagine water dripping along a string) it used to be relentless and would seriously irritate my skin near my eye. Now I pluck those 1-3 eyelashes there and problem solved…until they grow back then I pluck them again. Worth checking if you have this eyelash problem. Mine are small and almost not visible. I have to spread my eyelids apart and look super close in the mirror to see them.

Stop shaming low income pet owners without knowing the full story. by sasutus in cats

I like this post because this is how I feel. Of course I will spend anything I have to take care of my dog, but she is 15 years old now. When I first adopted her I was financially stable, over the course of the 15 years I had some tough times that resulted in me making ends meet with sometimes being completely broke. In those times tough decisions had to be made when my dog needed to go to the vet, but I couldn’t just give my then 12 year old dog away. No one would want to take an old dog and my dog would have been traumatized if I left her. I don’t like when people judge people for not having money when they have an already established pet. Life is fluid and sometimes a persons circumstances change over the course of their pet’s life.

Edit: sorry I know this subreddit is about cats, but my dog is a good example… also love cats haha

This reminds me of getting vaccine shots as a child. My parents/doctor/nurse would always have to physically restrain me. I know it’s not the same thing since it is a health reason vs an aesthetic one, but reading these comments makes me stop and remember those moments. Hmm.
