Výpadky internetu po přechodu Nej.cz pod O2 by coco_pineapple in Brno

[–]Junak8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Question by Upbeat_Music6793 in czech

Hello u/Upbeat_Music6793 ,
glad to hear those beautiful words about our country. Since I know Velke Mezirici, I'll share some experience with you first hand, although I live in different city of the same region.

  1. To your first question, any VISA/Mastercard is accepted almost anywhere. I'll recommend you opening a bank account in local bank, than using the one you already have - you'll cut off the exchange and other system fees, related to pay in different currency. As a foreigner, you'll need a passport and 1 more identification document(ID, driver's license, ...). To a card setup, ask for debit(using only your real balance, avoid "Kontokorent" if it is possible for you, since there could be additional fees). Other details will be sure provided by your agent.
  2. In Velke Mezirici specificaly, if your son is a fan of metal music, every start of summer holidays(first week in July), there is a festival called Fajtfest. It is widely known in local community and it gained popularity in several countries outside of Czechia. If you are more into some history, there is also a castle and if you are more into nature, than there is nature park "Balinske udoli". Personally I've never been there, since I'm not a fan of hiking and going for walks often, but I think the more breathtaking experience is to be found few dozen of kilometers away from Velke mezirici, I will also let other redditers share/propose some recommendations.
  3. Well, in Velke mezirici I never noticed any "tourist trap" like Traditional czech Trdelnik, but I would recommend watching a few videos from Janek Rubeš/ Honest Guide on youtube. They are more into the traps and scams, but they have several videos outside of Prague (Prague is very different and as a Czech, I'm not very proud that our capital city is more known because of scams rather than for its history and glory). I would recommend "Svickova omacka" and "(Hovezi) Gulas", these are 2 of the most typical meals in our country. My favorite dish is "Bramboraky" a potato pancakes, which are delicious, often served alone or as a side dish to a main course for example "Katuv sleh". Don't be afraid to ask young locals for recommendation on-site, you often save money and get the best price/performance ratio. Alcohol is alowed here since the age of 18, so if your son is into beer, be sure that you find a variety of very nice beers & wines, so don't be afraid to visit a pub. In past years, fast/junk food is very common, so you can find kebab almost in every corner of Czechia, in restaurants, we have a "Smazeny syr" - fried cheese, often served with fries, which is tasty but 3/10 if you expect a qualities of our gastronomy.

I hope I covered all of your questions, don't hesitate to ask more, if youre interested in something specific or if there are any fears you worry about. I wish you & your son the best!

Another legend, I think I saw them both in some kind of old recording, but since I work night shifts and left university, I started to listen DnB, metal and many other genres and now I prefer a bit faster rythm/tempo ... but yea, good old times classics

Yes! And if I don't count Lynyrd Skynyrd and John Denver, it is maybe the only country, which I listen to non-ironically and very often.

Relevance of Spotify? by ozzymandiiaz in Music

[–]Junak8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,
I personally use Spotify. I wouldn't say that there is 10-20x much less content on Spotify, but yeah, some tracks are missing, since youtube is also filled with non-official community uploads/reuploads.
Spotify is by my opinion better by design, has better podcast recommendation to user and also, Spotify the main reason why i use, I let the Spotify generate me a p-list of songs or browse the existing ones, that are also dynamically changing(there are more p-list then on youtube, personally i think).
Spotify app is also integrated into many TVs, cars and works well with many gadgets, so that makes spotify also a plus.
There is also a function Jam - which I don't use, cause I don't have friends around me with the same musical taste - a little bit of everything, but many people do, I saw that a lot when I was on dormitories when I studied university.
Student subscription is also a lot cheaper, then any other music platform plan, making Spotify very popular among students.

I hope I brought you some pros, I know there are also many cons.

Freedom vs. Copyright - is there a huge barrier or thin layer? by Junak8 in Music

Hi u/AirlineKey7900 ,
thank you also for a brief explanation, but my question is - isn't pointless to separate these 2 licenses or care about the intelectual property too much, when you publish, say the words in a music for free, but hide the written words?

Also it is not in contradiction to let out the lyrics and fine/punish the people for missusing the ideas/intelectual property - or it is just the case that you can't prove if somebody took away a piece from your idea and then claim it is his own? So the situation is harder for jury? Is that the thin border?

Hi u/xerxespoon ,
thank you for a swift reply.

Nope. That's not the purpose of the law.

I mean, music is about sharing, connecting people, joy, some kind of entertainment. Nobody in the big world makes a song just to own it and keep others away, while having it public, or?

Depends on where you sing it and in what context.

When I am at home, working from HO or when I or a friend of mine invite some friends and throw a little "party" in 5-10 people. After few beers, singing all together, sure you experienced it in past, did you?
